My current preferred local Indian restaurant. The staff are lovely, attentive and friendly, it is BYO so costs are kept to a minimum, and it is a 5 minute walk away. There is a Polish supermarket next door where you can buy a wide selection of alcoholic beverages.

The Orchard is a relatively new cafe, for this one walk to Church road and take a right up the road, you will find it just after the Fountain junction. The do great coffee, breakfasts, brunches and lunches and now do live music and food on Friday evenings.

20 Clouds Hill RdThe Orchard is a relatively new cafe, for this one walk to Church road and take a right up the road, you will find it just after the Fountain junction. The do great coffee, breakfasts, brunches and lunches and now do live music and food on Friday evenings.
These guys don't sell many pastries but what they do is awesome. By far the best croissant style cinnamon swirl bun i've ever eaten. They only sell them Thursday to Saturday and you'll have to get there early before they sell out! The bakery is found on St Mark's Road in Easton which is well worth a visit - great food shops, cafe's, friendly pub and restaurants.

Drinks & Nightlife
Bristol has too many choices to pin down here. I've listed some local faves but if you head into town there is something for everyone.
Old Market is a great first call before heading into town for a late night and easily accessed on the main bus route. Here find gay bars, underground music bars and venues, restaurants, pubs and theatre.
The city centre offers restaurants, bars, theatres and arthouse cinema galore. Head up to Clifton Triangle at the top of Park Street for nightclubs and more bars. Further up Whiteladies Road you will find more bars and restaurants. Stokes Croft is where you will find vegan eateries, underground music venues, clubs, pubs and bars, further along Gloucester Road is also a haven for bars, restaurants and music venues.
Budget and family friendly pub and restaurant with dependable menu. Excellent for breakfasts, hot drinks, meals, serves alcohol from 8am til 1am most days. A no music policy means its great for catching up with friends without getting a horse throat! Its large enough to accomodate rowdy groups on a night out and family groups at the same time.

Parks & Nature
One of the things that drew me to buying my home in this part of Bristol was its proximity to a choice of green spaces.
It's on your doorstep. A pleasant way to walk to Whitehall and Easton, or cycle to the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path, a tranquil spot to nature watch. Nice for walks, picnics, running, table tennis, tennis, skatepark, children's play area. The lake is due for development to be more wildlife friendly.
