Within a ten minute drive of our home are a large number of places to eat. Some are included in our list of recommendations.
It has fantastic gardens to walk through and a terrace that you can eat out on when the weather is good.

This is a great auction house if you have an interest in old furniture and antique pieces a browse in their show room prior to a sales day is a facinating expeience.

Sightseeing

HIstoric places fo interest in the locality.
There is a stone Round Tower here which would have been used as a means of defence against groups of raiding Vikings.

The tour of the house is very interesting and not too long approximately 30 minutes. It gives a good insight in to the lives of the Irish aristocracy.

Bog Boardwalk

For nature lovers or those who would like a relaxing stroll, walking along the constructed boardwalk in Abbeyleix Bog is a fantastic experience.
A beautiful woodland setting with walking trails through woodland and by the riverbank. A fabulous escape from it all.
