Ailwee cave is Europe's largest cave and tours run all the time. The bird of prey centre is right beside it and presentations on the birds run in tandem with the tours of the cave. Children (and adults) have a chance to hold the birds and see them in hunting flight. There is also a great cheese shop here. Only 20 minutes drive from the cottage.

The Flaggy shore is a beautiful walk within 10 mins of the cottage. With a beach, and long walk which can be done in a loop. Near to Linnane's lobster bar and the Linnalla's ice-cream shop as well as the Russell Gallery.

The castle is great to walk around and is situated in Kinvara. In the summer months, they host banquets at the weekend which are a lot of fun.
