If you want a fun, unique thing to do on a Friday night, check out this local auction house. You can look at the items they have for sale online or go in and see it Thursday, Friday during the day. The auction always starts at 6 pm and you can buy everything from coins to jewelry to furniture. You can find unique, vintage items. It’s fun to just go and watch or bid on something.

Things to do with Kids
If you’re looking for things to do with your kids, these are recommended by our child.
Our child loves this pool - it’s close by at Lake Tomahawk park. It costs $3-4 to swim all day. Parents can swim or read a book by the pool while kids have fun swimming. There are life guards, so you can relax while your kids have fun.

This pool is really close to the cottage - just down the road. Really nice pool and the view of the mountains is amazing. Let the kids swim and you can read a good book and hang out in the sun. If you like to swim too - they have ten minutes every hour where the kids get out of the pool and it’s adult swim time.

This grocery store is just a few minutes from the cottage. If you don’t feel like going out to eat, run by Ingles (you can also get gas for your car). They have a great selection of groceries, a salad bar as well as a deli for sandwiches and hot meals. Try the fried chicken - it’s one of our favorites for a quick easy pick up meal.

Milton’s is located in the historic Monte Vista hotel. It’s one of our favorite places to eat for special occasions. It’s a bit pricey, but the food is delicious and the waitstaff is great. If it’s warm enough, they have a really nice patio space. If it’s cold, get a seat by the fireplace. Very cozy!

If you want to try to find a Beacon blanket - try the antique store at the Swannanoa exit - they usually have a handful of them for sale.
