Places to go with a young family
This is a brilliant small ethnographic museum and gardens about 20 minutes away by bus.
It has lovely gardens and a great playground over the road too.
It has a small aquarium, a great collection of animals, a gallery of musical instruments, and fun temporary exhibitions. It is excellent for children up to around 10 years old I'd say.

95a Rye LnThis was once a car park that is now a cultural venue, and on level 6 there is a great area where kids can run around, while you have a drink at the bar... ping pong and table football available.
In the summer Frank's bar is on the roof with amazing views over London (prepare yourself for the toilets though - they are challenging!)

In the summer there's a brilliant programme of classical and contemporary music by the Multi-Story Orchestra, who's home is in the multi-storey car park.
They do fantastic performances with 'living programme notes' so you really get to know the music before you hear it played.

This is an amazing lido - it's so massive it doesn't feel crowded even if it's full of people.
It's not so easy to get to from here if you don't have a bike or car, but worth the trip if you love swimming!
