Amazing food and wine. Outdoor eating with fire pits and a school bus turned into a play area for the kids. They are famous for their brussel sprouts, the pork shank, burger royale and french onion soup are fantastic.

There are several top shelf BBQ establishments in San Diego choosing the best spot to me depends on the style and meat you prefer. Too me this place is the absolute best. Located in the little Italy area, this place is happy comfort food that tastes like heaven. I literally went there for my last two birthdays, don't sleep on the cookies or milkshakes. The Senor Croque is my favorite.

Not alot of drive in theaters anymore but we have two the Santee one and the South Bay drive in in Chula vista (little longer drive but I actually prefer it) We love taking the kids to the drive in, you can pick up a pizza or burritos on the way and kids are only $3 also kids under 5 are free.

Very cool park. Right on San Diego bay. Parking can be tough but they do have paid underground. Super unique playgrounds and the water fountains / splash pad are alot of fun!

The Fleet science center is one of our kids favorite places to explore the science area is ever changing and the toddler play area on the second floor is super fun. They also show imax shows through out the day. The Natural History Museum is also super fun and they have traveling exhibits like Dinosaur fossils, Whales were some recent ones plus they have an imax theater as well. There is an admission cost per museum or you can get a pass for all the museums if your planning to do it all, actual balboa park the fountains and many places are free of charge and plenty fun. Tip if its busy and hard to find parking at Balboa go over and park in the southeastern corner of the zoo parking lots (free) and walk over.
