There are also other nice cafes around here and once a month a very big flea market in the weekend. You can take the ferry for Westerdoksdijk or from the back of Central Station it's free and you can take your bike on it.

Great place for lunch, dinner or just a coffee or beer. Located along a canal with great terrace on a landing on the canal as well. The interior of the cafe is equally nice.

Good for clubbing, and really close to the house! There is also a cafe just to have a drink and a restaurant for fine dining (not cheap, but very good) located in this old school building from the 60's.

For a number of reasons they will have difficultly finding work on the regular job market, so here they are given a (second) chance. Go here for a beer!

Really authentic place to try Dutch liquors. You can also take a tour through their distillery. The tasting room closes at 19 o' clock, so go there on time, also because it is pretty difficult to find since it is located in a tiny alleyway next to the Krasnapolski Hotel and the tasting room is also tiny and can get very crowded. The earlier the better.

And it's a 5 minute walk from the house. Not sure if you can find a spot (you are not the only one who knows about this).

City sand beach along the Sloterplas.
Not as crowded as Vondelpark and definitely just as beautiful. If we hang out with friends in the park, this is the one we go.
