A favorite spot to visit. A short hike takes you from the County park to the spit with educational opportunities along the way. Beautiful scenery and peaceful. Warning, the hike back includes a pretty steep hill.

Beautiful scenery and on a clear day you can see Canada across the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Many hikes available, both long and short, easy and more intense. One of my favorite places in the area.

A 45 minute drive will take you to one of the best places to explore tide pools at low tide. There are also hiking trails as well as a beach to enjoy. One of our favorite places to camp or just spend a long day when our children were small.

A beautiful place, with the rushing Dungeness River and lots of clean fresh air. Hiking trails around it, as well as the Olympic Discovery Trail which is great for biking, walking or jogging.

Go on the driving tour and see zebras, a rhinoceros, eagles, bears, deer, buffalo, etc. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with lots of laughs! We take friends here when they visit. A favorite iconic experience.

So many things to do while there, including Butchart Gardens, the Empress Hotel and the Provincial Museum, to name just a few, and very tourist-friendly. A favorite place to go in the summer! You can just walk on and get anywhere in the area on foot or by public transportation, or you can drive on and see more of Vancouver Island. In the summer, it is very busy for drive-on traffic, so call ahead to find out what wait times may be.

Our local organic farm store, with incredible local blueberries and strawberries in the summer, and lots of other produce grown on their farm or grown in the area. Many other foods also available. About 10 minutes away.
