Cross to the Tate Modern Gallery (which is free). then head East along the river to Shakespeare's Globe - a reconstruction on the site of the original theatre, Fisherman's Wharf for some arty shops and if you are feeling like a walk, head for Borough Market for lunch, and take in Southwark Cathedral and the Golden Hinde sailing ship. “Wonderful royal park with great rose garden, cricket pitch, tennis courts, deer, playground and Queen Victoria’s ancient oak tree that she used to play in. Overlooking the River Thames and home to one of London’s most iconic views, Greenwich Park is an amazing mix of 17th century landscape, stunning gardens and a rich history that dates back to Roman times. The park’s 183 acres has something for everyone. Stand on the Prime Meridian, the reference point for the rest of the world, and visit The Royal Observatory. Follow in the footsteps of England’s kings and queens with a walk through Greenwich’s ancient trees. Visit the tranquil flower, herb and orchard gardens then stop for tea at the Pavilion Café.”

“The largest Royal Park in London (1,000 hectares/2,500 acres), and home to 650 deer. This pastoral landscape of hills and woodlands set amongst ancient trees, with plants, animals and butterflies, offers a peaceful respite to visitors. There are playgrounds at Kingston and Petersham gates, and two golf courses near Roehampton Gate. Educational facilities for those with special needs can be found at Holly Lodge Centre (by appointment). There is fishing available at Pen Ponds, plus horse-riding tracks and a cycling path. Public toilets with disabled access are located at most main gates. The Isabella Plantation is an organic woodland garden. For eating, choose from Pembroke Lodge, a Georgian mansion with spectacular views and garden seating, Roehampton Café or refreshment kiosks located at main car parks. ”

“At the top of London's tallest building, set beside the River Thames, The View from The Shard is a multi-sensory experience; combining awe-inspiring 360 degree views of the city in a unique setting - an escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. Whats great is that you can reach this destination within 30 mins by foot! Why not try booking a table during sunset, so you can watch London transform from day to night. ”
