“Hyde Park is central London’s largest green space. The 1851 Great Exhibition was held here and during World War II, the park became an enormous potato field. Today, the park is a place to stroll and have a lovely picnic, or a nice boat trip on the Serpentine Lake or catch a summer concert or outdoor film during the warmer months.”

“An island of beautiful countryside, the magic of Hampstead Heath lies not only in its rich wildlife and extensive sports and recreational opportunities, but also in its proximity and accessibility to millions of people. There is a zoo, an athletics track, an education centre, extensive children's facilities, three swimming ponds and a Lido.”

“Clearly running along the river is great for both combining tourism and fitness. Head North on the Southbank and you can run all the way to St Pauls the Tate Modern and back for a nice 10km. Warning as you pass the London Eye and the carnival of street entertainers outside Royal Festival Hall its best done in early morning. For less hectic runs the nearby Battersea Park is beautiful and it’s nice to run along the river front and past the Buddhist Pagoda. There is a little piece of road running to get to the Park. Finally nearby there is FloatWorks and Embody Wellness for flotation tanks, massages, yoga and pilates. Plus the VauxWall Climbing Centre. ”

“With Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens on your door step, and with Green and St James park in close proximity, my flat is the perfect location for those wanting to get a morning run (or walk!) in the beautiful parks that London has to offer, along with a bit of site seeing. Hyde park is generally safe and I have never felt threatened, but the entrances are gated and are closed from sunset and reopen around 5.30am. I have often run throughout the park during the dark winter mornings, but saying that please remember London is a city and always be vigilant. If like me you are a very early bird, I would suggest foregoing the earphones if you are pounding the pavements on your own so that you can hear whats going on around you! The easiest way to get to Kensington gardens is to turn Right out of Monmouth road, and then take the first right onto Garway road - keep straight until you cross Moscow road continuing straight until you hit Bayswater road, where you then turn left and cross Bayswater road at the pedestrian crossing. 4.5 Mile loop, also known as Two Parks- runs the circumference of Hyde park and Kensington Gardens. Just stick to the large path which will eventually take you back to your starting point. You will enjoy running through Speakers corner, view Wellingtons arch, past Hyde Park Barracks, The Royal Albert Hall, The Albert Memorial, Kensington Palace and the Diana memorial playground! 7.2 Mile loop (Also known as Three parks) - includes all that of the two park loop, but at hyde park corner you come out of the park, cross over the large round about (running through Wellington Arch!) - and run the circumference of St James park and Green Park - where the London Marathon finishes. On this loop you will get to see the majestic Buckingham palace ”

“This is a great wood connecting Sydenham with Dulwich, where you can continue your run if you like. If not, make sure you have waterproof shoes on as the paths can stay muddy after rainy days (Distance: 2.4km uphill and a great downhill on your way back)”

“This is a beautiful place to go for a walk in the woods. Dulwich Wood, together with the adjacent Sydenham Hill Wood, is the largest extant part of the ancient Great North Wood in the London Borough of Southwark. Easy to get to the entrance to the wood (bottom of Cox's Walk) on buses 176 and 185 from Champion Hill bus stop heading South (15mins by bus). Or it's a 20-25minute walk to the entrance of the wood from the flat, via Dulwich Park.”
