“This on the old Glasgow road and is a good stopping place if you are coming round the mountains to get to Dunoon rather than crossing the Clyde estuary. It has a shop and cafe, Toilets etc.”

“The local Munro! Do a bit of “bagging” whilst you are here and conquer the infamous Ben Lomond. Amazing views and a fairly easy walk as far as Munro’s go!”

“A lovely park with great views to the loch and just near the famous Sweeneys cruises where you can catch a boat to cruise the loch. There is a small hut which serves hot drinks and limited food called The Slipway - located just by the water. There are some small swing parks etc but we enjoy it more for the scenery and dog walking. There is a park run here at 9.30 am every Saturday.”

“Part of the West Highland Way, located just beside the village of Balmaha. Conic hill is a sharp peaked mountain created by the Highland Boundary Fault. It is a beautiful walk and it is perfect for dogs. During the lambing season, dogs are not allowed in the two enclosed fields on the east approach to Conic Hill, even if they are on a lead. The season normally lasts for around three weeks at the end of April and early May. However, this does not affect access with a dog to Conic Hill from the Balmaha direction. Fingers crossed for good weather because the views from the top are just fab. There is also a car park at the base, allowing those with vehicles a place to park before climbing the hill. Surrounding the car park are a number of shops including a pub/restaurant, coffee shop and village shop. Dogs are only allowed outside, but there are nice seating areas to enjoy, if its not too chilly!”

“This is a small aquarium and while small they do have some interesting exhibits, the Bay of Rays, The Asian Otters and the walk through tank with sharks and snub nose ray's tend to be visitors favourites. You can often get vouchers (through Tesco) or discounts and we strongly recommend looking out for these as it can be quite pricey for such a small aquarium. May be better for younger kids. ”

“Amazing breakfast, wonderful views and dog friendly! See all the animals including alpacas, varieties of sheep, chickens and pigs and indulge in lovely breakfasts lunches and snacks and great evening menus. This place has amazing coffee and beautiful decor. There is a nice short walk approx 1 mile up from the entrance to Fruin Farm (Available on this guide) which we recommend doing before indulging :). Great to tire out the pooch before a good hard earned rest.”

“The pretty conservation village of Luss is around 20 min drive from BnB on the western shore of Loch Lomond. A settlement has stood on this site since medieval times although much of the current village dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, having been developed to house workers from nearby slate quarries. With its prim, identical sandstone and slate cottages garlanded in rambling roses, and its narrow sandy, pebbly strand, the village became the setting for the successful TV soap High Road which undoubtedly contributed to its popularity during the 1980s and 1990s. For anyone wanting to escape the crowds, the 19th century parish church offers a haven of peace.”
