“Located in Glasgow's trendy west-end, this museum & art gallery is a local favourite, with something for everyone. Displays of Egyptian artefacts, stunning artworks of all kinds, regular pipe organ recitals at 1pm, animals from all over the world, a cafe and restaurant, and more. Highly enjoyable for all ages. ”

“Classic example of a Victorian park, designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and which measures 34 hectares (85 acres). Its set on the banks of the River Kelvin, and is (in my opinion) the best park in Glasgow. Depending on time of day / year, you may find joggers, cyclists, students, dog walkers, skaters and barbecuers all using this wonderfully green space, and the Kelvin walkway cuts right through the park. It's just two minutes walk from the flat, past the bars and restaurants in Gibson street, the entrance is opposite Eusebi's deli.”

“From Kelvingrove, walk across the park to the University of Glasgow. The gothic-style buildings were designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, famous for creating the St Pancras hotel in London. With its turrets, vaulted ceilings and bell towers it looks like something straight out of Harry Potter. ”

“Formerly Kelvinside Parish Church, Òran Mór (literally ‘big song’) has a solid reputation as a cultural/arts centre – it contains a theatre (a nightclub at weekends), two restaurants and a notable whisky bar with a traditional ‘island’ counter, wooden fixtures, bare stone and various artworks around the walls. The food is good enough to attract all comers, while there are a couple of real ales for the beer aficionado. As for the celebrated whisky list, it has well over 200 choices including premium names such as a fine 30-year-old Highland Park from Orkney and a gorgeous 25-year-old Talisker from Skye. Previous guests have told me they loved this place!”

“The park is Glasgow's largest park and the only "Country Park" within Glasgow. Its extensive woodlands and gardens provide a quiet sanctuary for both visitors and wildlife. The park is rich in rural history formerly being part of the Old Pollok Estate and ancestral home to the Maxwell Family. The historical mansion house is open to visitors and features a tea room and restaurant for refreshments. The park is also home to the world famous Burrell Collection, which contains Scottish and international treasures.”

“To get to SECC Glasgow, you can walk for about 10-12 minutes (0.7miles) to Argyle Scotrail Station from where you can take the train to Exhibition Centre (5 min, 3 stops), then walk for about 9minutes (0.5 miles) to SEC Centre. Getting back we recommend you to take the same route or travel by train from: Exhibition Centre Station to Bridgeton Railway Station, from where you can take bus service SimpliCITY18 towards City Centre, hop off at Green Street Bus Stop (3 stops, 2 minutes journey) from where you will walk about 2 minutes to get back to the property. This route can be used to avoid walking. Same route to get to SECC (opposite direction!). ”

“Combining traditional Scottish dishes with some new-fangled twists, the restaurant abides by the seasons, going local on everything from produce to venison, and even wine. The atmosphere is as exquisite as the food, with a verdant courtyard that feels a bit like a magical forest. Less expensive, brasserie-style food is served on the upper level, while the Wee Pub — Scotland's smallest! — is a great place for a nightcap”
