This fabulous apartment occupies the entire top floor of historic Craster Tower, a superbly preserved Grade 2* country house dating from the fifteenth century, built around a 14th century Pele Tower. Craster Tower has been in the same family for over 850 years. Refurbished to the highest standard, the apartment provides elegantly decorated and furnished accommodation, with stunning views on all sides. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, with many original features retained including decorative coving, ornate stone fireplaces and a fine Venetian chandelier in the drawing room. The apartment has its own front door, giving access to a large garden area with a patio with cheminea and lighting, garden furniture, barbecue and large trampoline. There is a tennis court available for the use of guests. The picturesque fishing village of Craster is a short walk down a footpath through woods and fields. The tiny horseshoe shaped harbour was built to commemorate a member of the Craster family, which has been associated with the area since the early 12th century. The fishing industry has for centuries been the mainstay of the village economy, and today crabs and lobsters are the chief catch. The smokehouse, where herring are smoked to produce the renowned Craster kippers, is at the heart of the village and has been run by the Robson family since 1905. There are exhilarating coastal walks passing some dramatic scenery, including one from the village along to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 7 miles away. Warkworth Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands and the Cheviot Hills are all within easy reach. Superb beaches - sand-yachting at Bamburgh, jet-skiing at Beadnell and sandcastle-building at Embleton! Outstanding opportunities for ramblers and bird watchers. 5 golf courses are within 20 minutes. And of course "Dark Skies" at Kielder. We are happy to welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs, for which there is an additional charge of £20 per dog. We ask visitors not to smoke in the apartment. Eating out in Northumberland has recently become possible! We now have a number of excellent restaurants within easy driving distance - whether the Jolly Fisherman or the Fish Restaurant in Craster itself (you can walk it!), or the Cottage Inn in Dunstan (a 3-mins walk over the road!) - the Tree House in Alnwick Gardens - the Mizzen in Bamburgh - or the Salt Water Cafe in Beadnell to mention but a few.

    This large, comfortable room has stunning views over rolling fields. Close to the coast and a 5 minute drive to Alnwick, a 5 minute walk from Alnmouth train station, it's ideal for exploring Northumberland. Ideal for couples or families, the room has a king size bed, sofa bed & if required, a cot. A continental breakfast is also provided in the room. The en-suite bathroom has a luxurious roll-top bath & large shower. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
    You will have use of a large bedroom at the top of our detached family home. The room has a dining table, kettle, and fridge, with tea, filter coffee, sugar, milk, continental breakfast and fruit supplied. The house makes a great base for exploring the stunning coastline, castles and countryside of the local area, and the large comfortable room with a HD TV and Chromecast will give you space to relax during your stay. Well behaved dogs are welcome. The local area has stunning wide open beaches, and is often referred to as 'Doggie Heaven'. We have a large entrance hallway, you are welcome to leave any luggage here if you need to check in early, or if you need later. We often have this arrangements with visitors who take the train.
    Bilton is a picturesque village approximately 1.5 miles from Alnmouth. The area has a range of great walks both inland and to the coast. Nearby Alnmouth is a beautiful village with a range of independently owned cafes, pubs and restaurants. The large, quiet beaches are ideal for families and are very dog friendly.

    A luxury one-bedroom holiday apartment, situated one minute's walk from both Alnwick town centre and the Alnwick Garden; recently refurbished to an exemplary standard with a mix of rustic charm and all mod cons. This apartment will suit a couple, and provision can be made for an infant; unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.
    This early nineteenth century property was once a Victorian school house, but has been a residence for over a hundred years. In 2015 the property was purchased by its current owner, and no expense has been spared on renovating this beautiful and elegant apartment. The large arched windows have been double-glazed with heritage glass, and the gas-fired central heating system is brand new. Even so, there is a beautiful log-burning stove in the living room fireplace - with fuel provided - so the apartment is truly a cosy space even with its modern, light and airy open-plan aesthetic. Other features include a wet-room with both rainfall shower and handheld showerheads ( the plumbing has also been completely refitted in 2017) as well as underfloor heating; a washing machine and sensor dryer; a fully modern kitchen with a brand new dual fuel cooker, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and dishwasher; a 32” television with Freeview and DVD player; free wifi access; iron and ironing board; inside storage for up to two bicycles; and an outdoor area shared with a second holiday apartment. There is a large breakfast bar (that will also function as a perfect workspace if required), along with a bespoke drop-leaf oak table that is left open in the living room area for evening dining, but can fold away if extra space is preferred. Bedding, towels, a hairdryer, soaps, complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are all provided. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk will be present upon arrival.
    Hotspur Hill House is situated on a quiet side street of Alnwick, a picturesque medieval market town and the county town of Northumberland. The centre of town is only a two minute walk away, as is the famous Alnwick Garden (situated within the grounds of Alnwick Castle). The Tanners Arms - an award-winning real ale pub and staple of The Good Beer Guide - can be found at the bottom of the street. The coast and nearest beach is at Alnmouth, two miles to the East. Alnwick itself is in the heart of Northumberland: a great base from which to explore our fair county, and easily accessible as it is directly adjacent to the A1.

    Cedar Cabin Bed & Breakfast is a fully insulated and heated Swedish log cabin, with fantastic coastal views, private parking and easy access to the A1. We are 15 minutes drive away from Alnwick Castle & Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle, the Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle and beautiful beaches. We provide a full breakfast menu and can cater for varying dietary requirements. There is a well stocked courtesy tray, DVD player and small fridge. Evening meals can be provided.     The cabin is a unique space where you can be private, relax and unwind and there is also a guest/breakfast room available for guests in the main cottage with a television, plates, cutlery, glasses etc if you wish to eat in. We are in a central position to explore Northumberland and The Borders and close to many local attractions. There is a BBQ available and summerhouse for the warmer months. Come and explore North Northumberland.
    We are in a small hamlet of six cottages. Cedar Cabin, Broomsyde is the last property up the hill and has the best view of the North Northumberland coast. It is very quiet, lots of bird and wildlife and is great for stargazing on a clear night.

    Beautifully renovated Victorian coach house with dual aspect views on to Northumberland Street from the front and stunning tidal riverside views from the rear. The Coach House sits alongside a prominent Georgian house, which it shares the name - Seafield. The property is located in the very heart of Alnmouth, with the beach, the pubs, the restaurants and the ambience all within touching distance. Access to the Coach House is entirely separate from the main house, via an inviting staircase.
    The Coach House has its own private access and is very much a self-contained apartment. This holiday apartment has been completely refurbished this year, to a very high standard. The Coach House was originally built in the mid 1800's when the entire property was a famous Coaching Inn called The Northumberland Arms. Seafield is a very special property and offers unique views of the tidal riverside.
    If you have ever visited Alnmouth, then I need not say anything. If you have never visited Alnmouth, then you really have been missing something special. With the mainline East Coast railway serving Alnmouth, London Kings Cross is little more than 3 hours away and the same train that leaves Kings Cross is the same train that arrives in Alnmouth.

    Periwinkle Cottage is a lovely, stone-built cottage, beautifully furnished and tucked away in the heart of the pretty little village of Embleton. With the beach just a short stroll away, stunning scenery in every direction and some wonderfully traditional eating and drinking places right on the doorstep - Periwinkle is the perfect little bolt-hole for getting out and about and discovering (or re-discovering) Northumberland.
    Periwinkle Cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and provides the perfect base for those looking to explore the delights of the heritage coastline as well as those looking for total relaxation in this beautiful area. The cottage provides accommodation for four people and is an ideal retreat for couples, families and groups of friends. For larger groups Periwinkle can be booked with its sister cottages, Crocus and Snowdrop, which are part of the same converted stone coach house and also sleep four, therefore providing accommodation for up to 12 people. Downstairs the cottage has an attractive open-plan living space, with lounge, kitchen and dining area. The lounge includes a large sofa and two comfortable chairs, 32" flat-screen TV with DVD and Freeview, an i-Pod docking station, CD player/radio and a selection of books, games and DVDs for those cosy evenings in. The modern kitchen includes an electric hob, grill and oven, a fridge with a freezing compartment as well as a microcwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere and a small amount of tea and coffee to welcome you at your journey's end. You will also find it is well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils. The dining area seats four comfortably at a traditional wooden dining table. The cottage also benefits from high-speed fibre broadband, perfect for keeping the kids entertained, if you have a little work to catch up on while you're away or just sharing photos of our beautiful county with friends and family! There is also a spin dryer for guests to use. Upstairs the cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, WC and wash basin. Outside, the cottage opens up on to an L-shaped, south-facing patio area. There is a sturdy wooden bench as well as a picnic table and the area is fully enclosed to keep your little companions (two or four legged!) contained. There are two allocated parking spaces directly outside the cottage.
    The village of Embleton is one of Northumberland's true gems. Why not try the wonderfully traditional village pub - The Greys Inn, or try out the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, which shares the courtyard with Periwinkle Cottage. The award winning Embleton Bay is a ten minute stroll away, with its beautiful sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles. Just before you reach the dunes you'll see Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, which boasts a traditional 18 hole links course with views that simply cannot be beaten. There is also a bar and restaurant in the club which are open to the public. The village has a small shop and post office and for the younger ones there is a delightful, well-equipped and modern play area in the village. Such is the beauty of the location of this lovely village, there is much that can be done without going anywhere near your car. A gentle stroll up the coast will bring you to the delightful village of Low Newton with its renowned pub, The Ship Inn (which has its own microbrewery!) and picturesque bay. To the south of Embleton it is just a short stroll to the magnificient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and continuing past you will soon arrive in the village of Craster, with its harbour and world famous kippers!

    Edna's House offers a decent size double room ideal for a couple or single. You're welcome to bring and make your own breakfast. Tiny and remote, Chathill is neatly placed half way between Alnwick and the coast. It has a nearby train station with links to Newcastle for a day's shopping. It is also close to local wedding venues at Ellingham, Newton and Doxford. There is no TV in the house and limited wifi, so staying could be your ideal digital detox. I look forward to welcoming you.
    Edna's House is a semi-detached cottage with a small garden. The house also has a little kitchen, sun porch and living room with open fire. You are welcome to make use of the house alongside me. I have an odd work schedule so I'll let you know when I'm going to be around.
    Chathill is a lovely quiet village. The neighbours are friendly but not intrusive.

    The accommodation is a basic cabin set in our private back garden, three minutes walk from Alnmouth railway station on the East coast mainline. It's a twenty minute walk or 5 minute drive to our beautiful local beach. You would sleep in the cabin and use the main house for bathroom/toilet and the kitchen for making drinks and snacks. The house is occupied by three of us- we have a lot of knowledge of the local area and we are active in the outdoors and indoors! (Running and circus mainly).

    -St Bede at The Old Mill is located in the small hamlet of Littlemill, four miles north east of Alnwick. -Please be considerate when entering & leaving the hamlet to your fellow neighbours, both human & animal ! -The cottage is situated halfway between Alnwick & Craster so is perfectly placed for guests to visit the fantastic coastal spots, castles & stunning Northumberland National Park which are all within easy travelling distance by car. -Craster on the beautiful heritage coastal route is only 2.5 miles away, the picturesque fishing village is world famous for it's smoked kippers & the glorious walk from it's harbour to Dunstanburgh Castle. -Howick Hall Gardens are nearby & well worth a visit, with banks of rhododendrons, camellias & magnolias in the springtime. -A visit to Holy Island, which is reached via a tidal causeway & is famous for the Lindisfarne Gospels, is a must. -Don't forget the pretty village of Bamburgh with its majestic castle overlooking the expansive sandy beach. -Alnwick Castle & Garden, with its spectacular grand cascade waterfall & tree house restaurant, are 4 miles away. St Bede & The Old Mill-A potted history. -As the name suggests The Old Mill was once a water mill & the remains of the mill wheel can be seen at the rear of the property. -If you look to the left while facing the building you will see a field which was once the site of a medieval village known as 'Little Houghton'. Corn mills were a common feature of such villages, so it is likely that a mill has stood at this location since this time. The name 'Little Houghton' was later reused & today there is a nearby village known by the same name. The earliest the mill buildings appear on a map is around 1820. -The lime kiln (Grade 2 listed) on the opposite side of the road approaching the hamlet of Little Mill would have been a large local employer when in use. Extraction started in the 18th century & it was one of the largest in the country with it's own railway siding. The limestone was burnt with coal to produce quicklime for use in fertiliser & mortar. -There was once a railway station at Little Mill (1847 to 1965), families from Gateshead & Newcastle enjoyed holidays in nearby Craster, alighting at Little Mill & walking with their luggage the two miles down to the coastal village. -The Old Mill building was derelict until purchased from the local land owning Howick family in the late 1980's & was subsequently bought by an order of the Catholic church known as the 'Helpers of the Holy Souls' & run by nuns as a retreat. Local legend has it that Maxine Carr, accomplice to the Soham murders, resided here on her release from prison under a new identity. -The two smaller cottages (known as 'hemmels'), St Bede & St Cuthbert were once the home of farm animals but were converted in 2001.     Puffin Place is a great little holiday hideaway set in the historic conservation area of Seahouses and is perfect for couples or small families / groups. The cottage is in a peaceful location but just a minute from the harbour with the Northumbrian Coastal Path just at the end of the lane.
    We bought Puffin Place in April 2018 both in order to be able to use the cottage ourselves and hire out to visitors. It takes just an hour to get to from our home in Newcastle, and once there we rarely feel the need to use the car except when we're taking a day-trip to one of the many nearby sites of interest. In the time we have spent in the Seahouses everyone seems very friendly, even by North-East standards. Seahouses is a 'resort village' with something for everyone and is ideally located in the centre of the Northumbria coastline. All the other attractions of the Northumbria coast are within a short drive: to the north (Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Berwick); to the south (Craster, Beadnell and Embleton) and inland to Alnwick and a multitude of picturesque villages and other attractions. The cottage is tucked away in a quiet location in the oldest part of the village, among the smokeries and fishermen's cottages, but just a few minute's walk from the bustling harbour and the centre of the town. Despite its history - it was built in around 1850 - the cottage has been fully modernised and run as a popular holiday let since 2001.
    Puffin Place is is located within a 2 minute walk of the Seahouses village amenities where there's a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Guests can take daily boat trips available to the Farne Islands, the home of seals and seabirds and explore the surrounding area filled with wildlife. There are beautiful sandy beaches to the north and south with lots of places of interest just a short journey away. Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are a short run up the coast and the historic market town of Alnwick along with castle and gardens is a 20 minute drive inland.

    The living room area is open plan, tastefully decorated with a open wood fire for the colder evenings. The kitchen is well equipped with all you would need, including a coffee machine with a starter supply of Dolce Gusto pods for a latte or hot chocolate. There is a dining table and chairs for 4 and a highchair available on request. Upstairs there are two generous rooms (one kingsize, one twin) with The White Company luxury bedding. The king-size room has ample built in storage and a dressing table. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in dual mixer shower with WC and basin. Towels are provided. To the front of the property has a small courtyard with a bistro style table and two chairs, accompanied by a bench perfect for finishing the day with a glass of wine, watching the world go by. Unusual for a town centre property, there is off-road private parking for one medium sized car to the rear of the property. Other parking available less 100 metres away or at the local carparks for a small charge.
    Only a few mins walk to the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants.

The real highlight is the gate that leads directly onto the dunes where a short path leads directly to the beach. Set yourself up on the beach here and enjoy the novelty of being able to nip back to the house to brew a cuppa or even get a fresh cold drink from the fridge. At the top of the dunes from the garden is a bench where you can enjoy a peaceful view over the bay, harbour and with Dunstabrough castle in distance. For the early risers you can sit here and enjoy an early morning coffee watching the sunrise and listening to the dawn chorus as the skies brighten over the horizon. PRACTICALITIES There is side-by-side parking for 3 cars on the private driveway with additional adjacent free shared parking outside the house. Marram cottage is well equipped with all the amenities you would expect for comfortable living, including fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer and tumble dryer. An integrated garage allows storage of watersports equipment or bikes. The house is set on its own quiet, private road. However please note the unmade road leading to the cottage is not suitable for particularly low slung cars.     A cosy coastal cottage steps from Seahouses harbour. This upside down house is a light airy cottage with cosy but modern furnishings. A brand new log burner has been fitted in February 2019. There is parking for one car. The cottage is situated on the Northumberland coastal path, perfect for visiting local beaches and a well behaved dog is very welcome. The Schooner Inn opposite has live music at weekends.
    This cosy cottage has a double bed in a ground floor bedroom. The bathroom offers a bath with shower over and lots of hot water. An upstairs sitting room allows for a light and airy living space with a well equipped kitchen. A log burner and electric heating makes the cottage a cosy place to stay.
    St. Cuthbert's Cottage is situated in heart of the harbour area of Seahouses. For larger groups Crocus can be booked with its sister cottages, Snowdrop and Periwinkle, which are part of the same converted stone coach house and also sleep four, therefore providing accommodation for up to 12 people. Downstairs the cottage has an attractive open-plan living space, with lounge, kitchen and dining area.     The village of Embleton is one of Northumberland's true gems. Why not try the wonderfully traditional village pub - The Greys Inn, or try out the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, which shares the courtyard with Crocus Cottage. The award winning Embleton Bay is a ten minute stroll away, with its beautiful sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles. Just before you reach the dunes you'll see Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, which boasts a traditional 18 hole links course with views that simply cannot be beaten. There is also a bar and restaurant in the club which are open to the public. The village has a small shop and post office and for the younger ones there is a delightful, well-equipped and modern play area in the village. Such is the beauty of the location of this lovely village, there is much that can be done without going anywhere near your car. St Cuthbert & The Old Mill-A potted history. -As the name suggests The Old Mill was once a water mill & the remains of the mill wheel can be seen at the rear of the property. -If you look to the left while facing the building you will see a field which was once the site of a medieval village known as 'Little Houghton'. Corn mills were a common feature of such villages, so it is likely that a mill has stood at this location since this time. The name 'Little Houghton' was later reused & today there is a nearby village known by the same name. The earliest the mill buildings appear on a map is around 1820. -The lime kiln (Grade 2 listed) on the opposite side of the road approaching the hamlet of Little Mill would have been a large local employer when in use. Extraction started in the 18th century & it was one of the largest in the country with it's own railway siding. The limestone was burnt with coal to produce quicklime for use in fertiliser & mortar. -There was once a railway station at Little Mill (1847 to 1965), families from Gateshead & Newcastle enjoyed holidays in nearby Craster, alighting at Little Mill & walking with their luggage the two miles down to the coastal village. -The Old Mill building was derelict until purchased from the local land owning Howick family in the late 1980's & was subsequently bought by an order of the Catholic church known as the 'Helpers of the Holy Souls' & run by nuns as a retreat. Local legend has it that Maxine Carr, accomplice to the Soham murders, resided here on her release from prison under a new identity. -The two smaller cottages (known as 'hemmels'), St Bede & St Cuthbert were once the home of farm animals but were converted in 2001.     Loan End Cottage is a lovely Georgian 2 bedroom cottage located a 7 minute walk from the centre of Alnwick. Off-street parking and own private entrance to the cottage. The owners live next door in the main part of the house, but you'll rarely see them unless you want to!! Living room with log-burner, kitchen, small rear courtyard on the ground floor. Upstairs their are 2 bedrooms - a single bed and a double bed - and a bathroom with over bath shower.
    The cottage has a log-burner (logs supplied), 2 seater sofa and an armchair, good wifi and we are dog friendly. We provide complimentary tea & coffee, sweetener, a jug of milk in the fridge and a pack of biscuits. There are a selection of books and DVDs, CDs and the TV isa large flatscreen with UK freeview with integrated APPS such Netflix, Prime, BBC iPlayer, ITV HUB etc. (You will need your own user ids/log-in details etc to use the APPS.) The Wi-fi is BT fibre broadband, speeds are usually 50MB or more.
    The building is grade 2 listed building with a private driveway away from the main street. It is very quiet but only a short walk to main street. Alnwick is famous for it's Castle, gardens and the coastline is one of the UK's best with large unspoilt beaches and castles galore.

    Situated in the quiet hamlet of Tughall Steads – an 18th Century former farm masterfully converted to provide unique and luxurious holiday accommodation. The quality and location of this beautiful cottage is very special indeed. Just a few minutes drive from some of the finest beaches in Northumberland - such as the incredible cove and beach at Beadnell - and very close to other major attractions, like village of Bamburgh and its famous castle.
    The two storey cottage has a spacious entrance hall with stairs leading to the first floor accommodation including two good-sized double bedrooms (one with additional sofa bed), and a well-equipped family bathroom. Downstairs is the lovely kitchen/breakfast room, fitted with a range of quality units incorporating electric hob and oven, integrated dishwasher and fridge. Also the charming sitting room including LED SMART TV (with Netflix), contemporary electric living flame fire, and picture window, alongside an access door leading on to the rear patio and garden area. Externally the property is approached to the front via a courtyard with block paved allocated parking. To the rear there is an open hard landscaped garden with additional vehicle access, block paving and stone flagged patio. Additional parking is available in the development. Also, we are pet friendly!
    Just a few minutes drive from the incredible cove and beach at Beadnell - perfect for kayaking, swimming and all water sports - which stretches South to the National Trust-owned historic fishing village of Newton-by-the-sea. Short drives North to the charming village of Seahouses and Bamburgh (with its mighty castle), and South to the vilage of Craster (home of the famous kippers!), from where a short pictureseque walk will take you to Dunstanburgh Castle (voted one of the 10 best walks in the U.K by The Guardian). For a taste of the local fayre, head to the Jolly Fisherman pub in Craster for a crab sandwich or something more exotic! Also just up the road on the hill at Swinhoe is a boutique BOX Pizza cabin serving artisanal wood fired pizzas with fabulous views of the countryside - just perfect for a relaxing al fresco evening, with a glass of wine to watch the sun set.

    Relaxing 2 bedroom cottage, village location, pleasant walks to both beaches. The Sands is a semi detached cottage on a quiet cul-de-sac a few short minutes walk to the village centre. Open plan living downstairs with a kitchen that has all the facilities you would expect including washing machine, hob, oven, microwave etc. There is even space for a dining area seating 4. French doors out to the patio with stunning views across open country side. Horses in the field over the garden wall and you might catch a glimpse of a hare, a stoat and plenty of rabbits. Most years we even have our own families of swallows nesting above the patio and you can watch them come and go from their nest while you sit on the sofa. Upstairs the accommodation provides a double bed and adult size bunk beds upstairs with a family bathroom.
    You are well placed to access both of Beadnell's beaches and the village has a couple of places to eat very good food plus a couple of very good pubs which also serve food.

    The Net House is a bright but cosy cottage in the heart of Old Seahouses, right by the harbour and just a short walk from one of the many beautiful beaches on the Northumberland coast. Well placed for local amenities, The Net House is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Seahouses where you will find a well stocked Co-op as well as an array of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Bamburgh, recently voted Britain's favourite seaside resort, is a short drive (or a 3 mile coastal walk) away
    The Net House is bright, airy and cosy all at once. Contemporary decor with a mid-century twist, it's the perfect beach retreat in summer while the addition of a large window woodburning stove, books, jigsaws and boardgames sets the tone for snuggly winter breaks . A cracking dog-friendly pub, The Black Swan, with its open fire is just across the way. The Net House benefits from open plan living all on one level making it a perfect choice for families. There are two bedrooms - one double and one twin - both with en suite. We love (well behaved) dogs and we welcome two at The Net House for £20 per dog. While there is parking for two cars, manoeuvring into the space can be tricky. For that reason, we recommend reversing in and driving out.
