“The studio is 50 meters from Psyri square in a quite road. Psyri, is one of the most historic and picturesque neighborhoods of Athens and favorite stop of tourists. A few words about the neighborhood... Athens never sleeps. In some neighborhoods day meets night and people are constantly moving. Neighborhoods "live" 24 hours a day, having two faces and two worlds. In the morning hasty rhythms of daily and evening entertainment until dawn. All without the world of day to intervene in the world of darkness and vice versa. One of the neighborhoods that never sleep is Psyri. It offers a variety of options, from shopping different leather scarce until nightlife recommendations. Miaoulis street and the streets around it are the routes with handmade shoes shops. Here you can find whatever you can imagine made of leather. Belts, bags and sandals, which are considered unique in their kind. You will also find shops selling peculiar clothes and junk shops where you can find all sorts of objects, from old vinyl records and cassettes up for gameboy. The smell of cheese, thousand different spices and pastrami, made one in the air and the result can be said only one word. Euripides street. The road with the most unique "flavor" of the city, "the Athens stomach" (as it has been called) is the neighborhood where different cultures meet with the old Athens. A place that seems to have its own pace, unaffected by clocks and calendars. The commercial traffic in the region began in 1886 with the operation of the municipal market (the famous John Koumeli building) which houses today the “Varvakeios” fruit, vegetables, meat and fish central market of Athens. By that time, Evripidou street and the surrounding area became synonymous with food trade. Live images, painted with everyday life. People hurry to wander from shop to shop, through pressure, running to catch up. Strong mobility and hubbub. When sun falls, shops download the shutters and give way to bars and taverns. For Miaouli street Kostis Maraveyas has written a song: "In Miaoulis with raki every day is a holiday." A general feeling flirting in the air. Entertainment everywhere and for everyone. Before a decade the district of Psyri became the focus, yet favorite site any tourist or local, with its vibrant nightlife and the incessant mobility of the alleys. Therefore, especially abroad, is considered the Soho of Greece. The central square of Psyri called Heroes Square. There you can find taverns, original art galleries and hip café-bar. Undisputed protagonists are the small, narrow streets, which in recent years were laid with stone and not very tall buildings. An area with many faces after you will see side by side wonderful fully renovated neoclassicals and ruins. So wander the streets and let the magic of a historic district that connects yesterday and contemporary urban culture. Tip: Some afternoons taverns around the square are playing live music and causing the area a mood of celebration that lasts until the evening. Almost daily during the summer more rarely during winter. Ask the owners about their program at the period of time you will be there..”

History Museum
“The museum was founded in 1986 in order to house the collection of Cycladic and Ancient Greek art belonging to Nicholas and Dolly Goulandris. Starting in the early 1960s, the couple collected Greek antiquities, with special interest in the prehistoric art from the Cyclades islands of the Aegean Sea. The Museum's main building, erected in the centre of Athens in 1985, was designed by the Greek architect Ioannis Vikelas. In 1991, the Museum acquired a new wing, the neo-classical Stathatos Mansion at the corner of Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and Herodotou Street.”

“Another of the quintessentially Athenian all day bars that faces Monastiraki with expansive views of Plaka and the Acropolis. Its rooftop terrace sits above their accommodation facilities. Friday and Saturday nights are no doubt the busiest nights, attracting a younger mixed crowd of locals and tourists. Cocktails come from award winning bar tender Theodore Pyrillos. Ideal day time stop for refreshments and to capture some great city shots.”

“Nestled into the historical neighborhood of Plaka, Anafiotika is easy to miss, but arguably the most photogenic part of Athens. The buildings here are crafted in the traditional Cycladic style, as they were originally the homes of workers who had come to Athens from the island of Anafi to assist in the construction of King Othon's Palace. Anafiotika is beautifully reminiscent of the Greek islands, and a wonderful place to sit for a coffee or drink. ”
