“This is a wonderful place to spend time "mulling around", taking in the grand lobby with a drink in hand. It is a historic inn, visited by a number of presidents and celebrities. The original part of the inn is built of massive stones and as I imagine was a feat in 1913. The Sunset Terrace provides a wonderful meal and great views of the Asheville sunset over Mount Pisgah. If a meal in not in your plan, there are plenty of places to relax outside and take in the views. They are especially impressive in the fall when the leaves have turned. The resort is also know for its world class spa and beautiful golf course. ”

“Downtown Asheville is a great place to be! Our lively city center has gorgeous architecture, fantastic stores, a huge variety of 100 restaurants, interesting museums, fun street performers and many free festivals. The diverse mix of culture, music and art has led to our city center being dubbed by many as the "Paris of the South." For chocolate lovers, don't miss a visit to the French Broad Chocolate Lounge.Oh, and how could I forget the Drum Circle !!! Play, listen and dance at the Drum Circle every Friday night in Pritchard Park in downtown Asheville (except for winter months). All are welcome to one of the most diverse audiences you'll ever expereience. ”

General Travel
“The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469 mile scenic drive among the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can take shorter routes and exit the parkway to get home faster if you need. Stop freqently for vistas and easy-to-hard hiking trails. Thankfully, the parkway is free from commercialism, so fuel up, bring a picnic and everything you might need for the day and jump on the parkway just outside of Cherokee, NC. If you're headed to Asheville, you can take the BRP the whole way, but it's a much longer, winding scenic route than Highway 40, so plan accordingly. The beginning of the parkway proper is a 20 mile or 30 minute drive from our location, through scenic Cherokee, along the Oconoluftee River. Take 19/74 E, exit 69 for Hyatt Creek to US 19N. From 19N, take Acquoni Road (1368) to 441 N. From 441, turn right onto the Blue Ridge Parkway.”
