Delightful cottage in the middle of the woods, surrounded by peace, mountains, amazing sunsets and great skies full of stars.
The house, a restored typical rural galician house, has a fireplace in the living-room, kitchen stove and loads of garden.
Cozy and magical rural house to make you feel like you stepped back in time. This is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, while you enjoy around the peaceful and secluded area with majestic oaks, pines and wild horses.
Cozy and magical rural house to make you feel like you stepped back in time. This is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, if you are looking for five star luxury this is not for you, if you don't relate to the pleasures of simple rural life, this is not for you. Cast iron kitchen stove, fireplace, your own coop with delicious eggs every morning...Peaceful and secluded area with majestic oaks, pines and chestnut trees, wild horses and plenty of hiking trails where you can find ancient petroglyphs and menhirs. Enjoy the beauty of the Galician Mountains, the house is set in a quaint and typical small Spanish village but close enough to bigger towns where you can get your groceries, go to the pharmacy or enjoy some tapas and plenty of places to visit at a short car ride: Gorgeous beaches and superb seafood at 17 miles, medicinal hot springs and Celtic remains at 6 miles and less than 30 miles away from Santiago de Compostela.
You will not want to leave.
Guests have access to the whole house, included the big garden, the coop, the fire-wood, the tools...
We meet guests when they arrive, to give them the keys and show the house a little bit. After that, they are on their own until they leave.
The time of arriving and leaving is totally up to the guests.
The house is situated in Armonda, a typical little town of the rural mountains of Galicia, with nothing but some houses, a central oak´s meeting-place, a fountain, cows... peace and quietness guaranteed.
The nearest town to buy groceries, go to the pharmacy, the bakery, the restaurant or to the petrol station is Campo Lameiro, some 10 km away through a beautiful winding road surrounded by exuberant flora.
Because the situation of the house is fairly remote, a GPS is highly recommended.
There are no buses or public transport near to the house, so your own vehicle is necessary, whether it is a horse, bicycle, motorbike, car, tandem...
The house is pretty well situated, even though you are in the countryside, the sea is just about 25 km, the capital of Pontevedra around 26km, Santiago de Compostela at 60km... Plus in the area there are lots of rivers, hiking routes, hot-springs and thermal waters.
And very ancient history precludes the area, it has some of the highest petroglyphs concentrations of Europe.
You have access to the whole house and the whole garden... All for you to enjoy!
I live in Santiago, not too far away (like 50 minutes by car) and sometimes I´m even closer, so anything you need I can be there quite fast. I´m always approachable by phone anyway :)
We expect our guests to enjoy the house as if it was it´s own.
Usually guests enjoy feeding and freeing the chicken, as they get fresh eggs daily and a great experience! But if you don´t want to do this no problem, just let us know before.
