This charming, light-filled room has a new bathroom and wet bar, refrigerator, and microwave. It is a favorite of visiting scholars, musicians, and parents alike. See the Description below and the Reviews! ....
Note: The Queen size bed is suitable for one person or for two who can share the bed. If you have a larger party, we strongly recommend the Buckeye and the Frog.
Guests comment on the calm and peaceful feeling in the house and in this room, which is on the second floor overlooking the back garden and pond.
We supply coffee and tea--and if you let us know your preference, milk, soy milk, or almond milk. Yogurt, beer, wine, and juice are in the refrigerator. The cupboard is stocked with snacks, packaged soups, instant oatmeal, granola, muesli. Light cooking in the microwave. We supply dishes, glasses, cutlery, napkins, etc. Just leave your dirty dishes in the sink—we run them through the dishwasher between guests.
You will be cozy and warm in the winter with the adjustable hot water radiator--and very comfortable in the summer with the quiet Unico state-of-the-art central air conditioning/dehumidifier.
A few details: The walls were re-plastered by a master craftsman. The sheets are luxurious. The curtains were made from hand loomed and block printed sari fabric imported from Orissa, India. For those who like to minimize light when it is time to sleep, there are also black out shades.
We enjoy our privacy and will respect your private space. But we are happy to help--just text or call us. Guests use the side entrance, from the driveway, and its stairway, which does not go into the main part of the house.
Upon request, you are welcome to use the washer and dryer in the basement, as well as an iron and ironing board.
Just let us know if you need something or we can be of help!
We must be available at your arrival to introduce you to our dog, Yoshi, and show you the room. Check in times are 3-9 pm.
When you arrive, please telephone Dyane at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). You can pull into the driveway just behind the garage and unload your luggage next to the side door (the entrance we use for the guest room).
We supply luggage stands for you, as well as hangars on hooks behind the door to the room.
The room is suitable for no more than two people who can share the queen size bed.
No smoking in or outside the house.
We have a dog who will not tolerate other dogs in his home--so we regret that we cannot accommodate anyone who is bringing a pet.
We appreciate quiet. However, if you need to practice an instrument during the day and early evening, that should be just fine! We love music.

Now in my late sixties, I spent most of my adult life in the San Francisco area, beginning with graduate school at Berkeley. Later my husband and I built a Japanese country house in a redwood forest overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Now, my husband, Jacques Rutzky, is the Buddhist Affiliate at Oberlin College. I am a Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice.
We appreciate a beautiful, serene, harmonious environment.
We have traveled widely, and we enjoy meeting people from other cultures.
