Garden Sanctuary is spacious and simply furnished with the Ikea loving touch of the teenager who usually resides here. The room is very large, beautifully lit with massive windows facing the rear garden. It is neat and light.
'Lucia's Sanctuary' is one of 5 bedrooms that comprise our home in Bronte, 'La Sirena'. La Sirena is our family home. It is a large home and features:
4 very large bedrooms, 2 with en-suite
3 bathrooms with baths
1 single bedroom
3 indoor living areas, including massive sun-room with built in couch
Outdoor dining, seats 10
Dining room, seats 10
Kitchen with island gas stove, 2 ovens, dishwasher, coffee machine
Large garden with in-ground trampoline
Separate laundry, 2 washing machines
Built on a sandstone outcrop, nestled in to a native garden, our home is an iconic, outstanding Bronte residence. Commanding unobstructed views, La Sirena offers sensational summer living. With front garden terrace, courtyard and large private rear garden, natural landscapes frame 180 degree sea views.
The custom made kitchen is the heart of our home. In the centre of La Sirena, it features stunning jarrah cabinetry and stainless steel. Solid native timbers are used throughout and the walls feature original Australian artworks.
Flowing from the kitchen, a large dining room seats 10. A library with leather recliners offers a gorgeous room to relax in, to enjoy the extensive vinyl record collection, to read or watch the waves. Our spacious granite tiled sunroom fronts our home and overlooks grass and ocean. A built in couch provides a brilliant place to sit and enjoy views of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, to spot dolphins, and watch the sun or moon rise. At the rear of the house there’s a third living room including a leather couch, piano, and garden access. There are two televisions in bespoke cabinets.
Upstairs is an airy, sunny and private parent’s retreat. It has a large bedroom, en-suite with a king size timber bed with latex mattress. This room has coir seagrass carpet and a massive jarrah framed window featuring extraordinary views. This room has an adjoining marble/timber ensuite with large skylight.
Downstairs from the parent’s retreat is a double bedroom with two single beds and a third trundle bed. This room enjoys awesome views and has an adjoining bathroom with separate bath and shower.
At the rear of the house there are three additional bedrooms. The first has a queen sized bed, latex mattress and beautiful garden views. The second has a double bed and is spacious, light and enjoys views of the gorgeous private rear garden. The final single bedroom has an enormous sunlight and is a lovely smaller room with timber bed and comfortable latex mattress. A lovely, light filled carrara marble and bluestone bathroom is close by.
One minute from the famous Bondi-Bronte-Coogee coastal walkway, our house is situated in a very quiet cul de sac less than five minutes walk to Bronte Beach.
Whilst you're staying in Lucia's Sanctuary you have access to your room, a shared bathroom and the common living areas downstairs, including: the front wedding garden (where we actually did get married years ago), the courtyard, the bbq and rear garden terrace, the backyard, the kitchen, dining room, rear living room, library room, the front sunroom.
A caretaker will be staying in the house. Other guests are likely to be here too. There's plenty of living space. Please respect other guest's privacy and peace.
Please do read the House Rules and understand we really want your stay to be a lovely experience but we don't want a whole lot of hard core party people here. It's very peaceful in this house and everyone who stays here needs to respect the space and each other so that everyone has a holiday.
Strictly no smoking, no partying, no visitors allowed. Please understand this is a loved family home and we offer our beautiful space on the condition that you are respectful, tidy and friendly. Children are of course welcome, (we have 4!) but please ensure they respect the privacy of others, eat only at the tables provided, and wash the sand off their feet before coming through the house.
