Private Bedroom in nice home near university, historic old town, and art galleries. Great place to land when doing business in Silver City or visiting the historic sites here and nearby in the area.
1507 Combs Circle is very conveniently located, near Western New Mexico University (WNMU), historic downtown Silver City, the art galleries, and all cultural activities, which are frequent and many. There are frequents festivals of different natures: art, food, writing, old cars, fold music, etc. They all occur within 3-5 minutes of my home, either at WNMU, histoirc downtown, or Gough Park, which is next to downtown.
Guests will have exclusive access to the guest bedroom and bath, and will be able to use the washer & dryer if needed, use the kitchen and dining area, and the patio when the weather is warm.
I'll be available most of the time to provide information about Silver City and surrounding areas, the art galleries, and other cultural events that happen during the year, as well as how to find places at Western New Mexico University.
Guests are expected to be friendly and respectful of noise during evening hours (11 pm- 6 am), and to come and go from the home quietly If no one is around to greet them. Otherwise, conversation with the host is open and welcome to help guests understand the area and its attributes. My dog is a friendly border collie and non-threatening. One dog or cat allowed with prior approval, as long as pet is kept by guest and not left alone at my home. Guests must clean up after pets and make sure they are not a nuisance.

I had a career as a Criminologist (reformer), and at the end of my career, as an Episcopal priest and worked as a prison chaplain. I am very open and eclectic spiritually. I've travelled extensively, mostly to Africa but also Western Euroope, a little to South America, and Asia. I raised four children and also have four step-children, thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. I'm still active intellectually and spiritually, most recently with the Ennneagram. Just finished three years of RVing around the cuntry solo, visiting family and friends. Now settled in Silver City, NM, where I always hoped to retire. I've lived in every section of the U.S. except the mid-West. I'm now studying conversational Spanish. My main concern during my adulthood has been Social Justice for everyone. I am a progressive politically and spiritually. I am first a Quaker, second an Episcopalian, and thirdly a Buddhist; eclectic, open, learning, welcoming, ever a seeker. I love living in the Southwest wit its wide open, bluse, sunny skies and moderate weather. Silver City is a little gem, with a large active artist colonly, two local theater groups, an active retirement community intellectually and socially. It is in te foothills of the Gila Wilderness and has lots of outdoor recreation near at hand, as well as the Gila Cliff Dwellings, Rock City, several national parks and monuments, back-packing, hiking, biking, etc.
I love to host people and meet people from different backgrounds and experiences and help them find what is of interest to them in the Silve City area.
