The house is located directly across from Nehalem State Park and two blocks from the beach. A wonderful place for family and friends with 1,600 square feet of space on 2 levels. Close to the golf course and a 20 minute walk on the beach to downtown.
Our home is perfect for a get away with family and friends. A full, modern kitchen with all the amenities opens to a dining area that can comfortably seat up to 10. The open, vaulted living area provides a roomy gathering space for the entire family. You can choose between a restful evening in front of a roaring fire or a night of movies or video games depending on your tastes.
The master bedroom, which is located upstairs near the living room, has an extra tv and games for those times that the kids and parents might have different ideas on fun evening entertainment. Two additional bedrooms located downstairs provide a quiet retreat for kids and those who wish to take a midafternoon nap or retire early.
The open floor plan and large windows create an airy feel while the upper level deck is an ideal location to relax among the trees and enjoy a glass of wine with friends and family.
The house contains two bedrooms with queen beds in addition to a sleeper sofa in the living room. A bunk -room contains four single beds.
The house is fully private along Nehalem Avenue. Large trees and an empty lot to the south provide additional privacy.
Amenities include a full laundry room, dishwasher, two TV’s, DVD player, movies and wireless internet. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking for large meals. We have a few beat-up tennis rackets, some beach gear and a duffer golf set that you are welcome to use.
Our short term rental permit limits occupancy to 11 people and allows a maximum of four cars on site. This is a county regulation based on number of sleeping areas.
The full house and yard is available for use with the exception of a couple of closets we keep our clothes and supplies in.
We do not live in Manzanita. We are available to answer minor questions, however, our in-town contact, North Coast Watchman, will be the first contact for immediate concerns.
Once you have booked your vacation, we will send additional information including an access code for the lockbox.
Pool table and Ping pong table: You are welcome to use, but please be careful with the equipment and supervise children.
Please use the fireplace with care. It should never be left unattended. Firewood is not generally provided. Please bring your own or purchase at a nearby store. When starting a fire open the damper in the middle of the firebox and you may need to crack the sliding deck door for a short time to allow the fire to begin to draw.
Trash and Recycling:
Trash collection occurs on Tuesday morning every other week. Please make sure that you have placed all trash out at the exterior trash can Monday evening if you are staying beyond Tuesday or on your departure. Please secure the trash can within the enclosure with the lid under the crossbar to discourage marauding raccoons.
Recycling of paper/cardboard, glass, metal, and plastic containers (no lids or plastic bags) is available in the labeled bins in the garage. (Please rinse glass and plastic food containers to control odors and flies.)
We have a security system which consists of cameras only on the exterior of the house to give us peace of mind when the house is sitting empty. We are happy to shut off the cameras during your stay. If you still have privacy concerns please let us know and we will try to address them.
TV: our amenities list that we have a TV, great for movies, Netflix or OPB, but we do not have cable TV.
We try to keep the cleaning costs down. This means that we need a little help from you prior to departure. Please straighten the house before you leave.
•Tidy all rooms and put away any movies, games or equipment you have used.
•Strip all bedding and place it, along with all towels and dishtowels in the laundry room. Please try to get one load cleaned and in the dryer before you depart. (From our own experience, we have found that this requires that one load get started prior to breakfast.) Please don’t leave wet clothes in the washing machine (they could mildew if we can’t finish the cleaning right after your departure)
•Clean all surfaces (stovetop, kitchen counters, bathroom counters)
•Load and run the dishwasher and clean all pots and pans.
•Empty all personal items from the fridge.
•Empty trash from all rooms and put into the exterior trash can located outside on Nehalem Avenue.

This is a pet friendly property. Although the house is thoroughly cleaned between stays, those with major allergies should be aware that there may be issues regarding allergies.
A maximum of two dogs may stay if arranged prior to arrival. The dogs must be well behaved and they must not be allowed to disturb the neighbors with excessive barking. The dog(s) must not be left in the house alone (they may be left in the attached garage). Anxious, lonely dogs sometimes become destructive, barking dogs.
The fenced in area at the back of the house is not fully secured for determined dogs that might want to dig their way out. Please only use as a brief potty break area when you can't get the dogs out for a walk. Please clean up after your dogs.
