Cinnamon Fern Chalet is a premier vacation home in the Northpoint Mountain Resort in Canaan Valley, West Virginia. This spacious, cedar-sided chalet with a distinctive copper roof will make your vacation truly wonderful. Cinnamon Fern Chalet has 3 full baths and 3 bedrooms. This home shows the care and attention the owners have given this vacation paradise. This chalet is not stuck in the décor of a bygone era. It is professionally decorated and updated with new furnishings from upscale stores, new appliances, and up-to-date digital devices. The quilts that are displayed add to the splendor of the home and the ones on the beds add to your comfort.

The four entertainment setups in the living and sleeping areas consist of a HDTV, Blu-Ray DVD player, and cable HD television with digital music. The television channel selection and the internet speed are at the highest level offered by the cable/internet provider. Bring your own internet media streaming device so you can access movies and music via the HDTVs. The tri-band WiFi router provides coverage throughout the chalet for your digital devices. Local and long distance telephone service is free.

The great room, kitchen, dining room, ski entry/mud room, and a bathroom with shower are located on the main level. The great room has a vaulted ceiling with high windows and skylights. From a comfortable leather sectional sofa guests can appreciate the floor-to-ceiling, fieldstone wood fireplace and the views through the walls of windows. Another leather sofa has a queen sleeper. The great room has a 55” HDTV on a media console. New wood blinds control the daylight and provide privacy when needed.

The kitchen is open to the great room. Kitchen antiques displayed in the house are a clue that the owners love to cook. Unexpected extras in the kitchen include a full set of colorful dishes, which were made in West Virginia. The new stainless steel appliances are another surprise and the dishwasher is quiet. The kitchen is outfitted with quality cookware and cutlery as well as the most commonly needed cooking tools. During meals, all guests can be accommodated at the contemporary dining room table and there is alternative seating at the counter. For younger guests, the chalet has dishes, a highchair, and a booster seat.

The ski entry/mud room with its mud mats, bench and many coat hooks and is the ideal great place for guests to take off, stow, and dry out their coats, ski parkers, boots, hats, and gloves.

A wide staircase from the main level leads to the loft, which overlooks the great room. The loft is set up as a bedroom and has a king bed and a daybed with a trundle. The loft has a wall-mounted entertainment setup. The bathroom on the loft level can be accessed without entering the bedroom and ‬has a bathtub with shower.

On the first level, Cinnamon Fern Chalet has one bathroom, which has a whirlpool tub, and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a king bed, which with advanced notice, can be reconfigured into two twin beds. This bedroom has direct entry to the bathroom. The other bedroom has two queen beds. Both bedrooms have a wall-mounted HDTV entertainment setup as well as direct access to the lower deck outside.‬

Even thought this is a mountain home, the owners have taken measures to ensure that the water pressure is superb. Your comfort is ensured even in the coldest weather due to new digital thermostats and heating system.

The chalet is surrounded by multiple decks. The deck on the main level is wide and has a Weber charcoal grill, picnic table, benches, and wooden Adirondack chairs. The deck on the first level has Adirondack chairs and a porch swing. The well maintained hot tub is on a separate deck with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain and woods.

When guests arrive their beds have been made since linens, fluffy towels, and warm blankets, quilts, comforters, and pillows are included. The bedding is constantly updated. The new laundry appliances consists of a large capacity washer that uses HE (high efficiency) detergent and a jumbo dryer. These new stainless steel appliances wash and sanitize while conserving resources.

A selection of board and card games, Xbox console and games, blocks, books, and DVDs are provided for your enjoyment.

Cinnamon Fern Chalet is three hours or less from the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Northern Virginia, & Baltimore areas; and less than three hours from Pittsburgh. The new Corridor H Highway has reduced travel time from the Washington, DC area by one hour. During winter weather, four-wheel or AWD is mandatory for the mountain roads in the community and the chalet’s high driveway.‬

_____ CHECK-IN: You may check in at the Mountain Top Realty & Rentals office anytime after 3:00 p.m. However, there may be rare occurrences in which it will be necessary to delay the release of keys beyond the 3:00 p.m. check-in time until your unit is ready. No refunds or discounts are given for late or delayed arrivals. Our office is located on US Route 32, approximately 7 miles south of Davis or 4 miles north of the Canaan Valley State Park. CHECK-OUT BY 10:30 A.M.

_____ Maximum Occupancy Limits: The occupancy in a unit shall not exceed the maximum limit set at any time. No more than one unit may be rented to the same responsible party. All of our properties are privately owned, therefore it is the responsibility of Mountaintop Realty to rent to family groups only. Sororities, fraternities, parties, schools, or non-chaperoned groups are not allowed. You must be 25 years of age or older to obtain a rental license. Any violation of these standards will be grounds for immediate eviction without refund.

LATE ARRIVALS:
NO ACTION OR NOTIFICATION IS REQUIRED ON YOUR PART; We will leave an envelope in the key box beside our front door with directions, instructions, and keys on your arrival date.
WINTER MONTHS: - Roads and driveways are routinely plowed. Some roads require vehicles with 4-wheel drive and/or chains. Snow chains are recommended for icy conditions. This should be noted on each homes individual webpage but it is your responsibility to make sure your vehicle is properly equipped for snowy, icy mountain terrain. Also it is not Mountain Top Realty’s responsibility to shovel decks or walkways. A snow shovel is provided at each home. Emergency and after-hours contact numbers are posted on the front door of our office, and on the answering machine.

_____ FURNISHINGS & AMENITIES: All rental properties are completely furnished to include towels, bed linens, fully equipped kitchens and televisions. All units have electric or gas heat and most have a fireplace or woodstove; firewood is supplied, kindling is not. Every effort is made to keep each property and its equipment in good working order; however, NO REFUNDS will be made for mechanical failures, including hot tubs and televisions. There is a STARTER SUPPLY ONLY of toilet paper, bath soap, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent and trash bags. Any additional supplies or personal items needed will be the renter’s responsibility. NOTE: paper towels, coffee filters and coffee are not supplied. All properties are presented in as is condition by the owner of the property, and not by Mountaintop Realty and Rentals, management company.

_____ PLEASE NOTE: NO PETS ALLOWED except in houses that are designated as “Pet Friendly”. In such cases, a $25 non-refundable pet fee is required PER PET. Infraction of this policy will result in renters assumption and payment of all charges incurred for the complete removal of pet germs and allergens, completed to the satisfaction of Mountaintop Realty and Rentals.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The place was very clean and included the perfect kitchen and utensils for the chefs in our family. Looking forward to future visits.

The Chalet is quite large and was great for our group of 6 plus a baby. The deck is huge and lovely, we spent a lot of time out there taking in the view! It's a quiet area which was great. There were homes in the same community further down the mountain that are all really close to each other, but this one was completely by itself which was great! Plenty of seating for everyone. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could imagine as far as utensils, cooking supplies, dishes, etc. There is no A/C which was fine most of the time, but it got warm on our 86 degree day. Other than that, we had a great time!

The place was very nice and well stocked for cooking dinner, hanging out, and just having a great time after a full day of hiking. The rooms were spacious for the four of us to stay. It was clean, comfortable, and had a great view.

Peaceful, private and immaculate accommodations. Everything about this chalet exceeded my expectations. The beddings and linens were perfect. The kitchen was very easy to prepare meals in. The deck was glorious. We truly enjoyed every moment we spent here. Matt ensures that his guests have everything they cod possibly need, and more!

The chalet was lovely and very well-appointed. The location was excellent-close enough to Davis and to skiing and other fun activities, but secluded enough to feel like a true mountain getaway. Our group had plenty of room and especially enjoyed the large kitchen and dining area. If I plan a return trip to the mountains I hope to book this chalet again.
