Downstairs 1st floor area of our cozy log cabin which includes bedroom, private bath with sauna and access to rear deck hot-tub, in a peaceful upper summit community, 1/2way between oldtown Park City centre & SLC; just 7 mins drive east into Jeremy Ranch village shops, 15 mins to 3 ski resorts' best snow on earth. If your looking for accommodation to sleep 3 (one being a child / youth) arrangements can be made, so please inquire.
With several dozen trees, many in excess of 100 feet tall all around us, we have lots of shade during the middle of the day, but enjoy streaming sunlight coming in our front windows during much of the morning, as well as an appendix of rays that skip over the mountain range to our west and come in through our back windows & door late in the afternoon.
The level 1 area accessed directly from front door will largely be the private domain of our guests, though the very front room is where our eight year son sleeps. The family mainly hangs around the levels 2 and 3 of the house, being the lounge room, kitchen, bar & dining room, where guests will generally be welcome to join us in socializing. Outdoors front and rear deck space, as well as our yard - which opens up to forest & unlimited hiking opps - will be available for your exercising, relaxing, or chilling out on during the day, and for much of any evening. We will be enthused to show you around these.
If my wife or I are not out working in town, or otherwise not out playing on the slopes, we may well be at home, and more than willing to share a yarn, listen to music together, or assist our guests.
Understand that a feature of hanging around where we live is frequent encounters with wildlife - small & large, often innocuous, though sometimes threatening well-being if carelessly regarded. Although sightings & local encounters with mountain lions and bears have been reported as usual just this last summer/fall, there have been no reported human casualties. However, two years ago our very senior four-legged came off second best after his encounter with a moose, which happened back in a year when a number of them took up camp in our yard - buffeting on the greens not found hanging so low out in the forest open space. So the danger of being trampled by one of these huge guys - like our beloved puppy now no longer with us - remains very real, so we always recommend being vigilant when outdoors.
Being an Australian, so struggling to steer clear of a case of kettle calling pots black, but might I suggest refraining from overindulgent loud reveling in our hot-tub out on our back porch, or in the downstairs sauna - else you could end up being locked out of your quarters for the night by my lovely but very proper east-coast raised woman of the household!
When my wife & I are not staring besotted into each others eyes, I should be found mentoring our lil eight year old prodigy in getting ahead on academics, coding & associated electronics, as well as staying active with him as we both maintain year round participation in Short Track Speed Skating with the local PC club. For that part of the bad boy left in me to get an independent showing, I revert to be the seasoned US Masters ski racer (grp 5), actively training several nights/mornings each week of winter for any one/all of the 4 alpine disciplines: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super Giant, and even occasionally a Downhill course (really gets the adrenalin rushing). In summer, I still try to keep the pulse running high on a downhill bike, but do enjoy a more casual ride out on any of the fabulous XC trails leaving from our front door. This being my lame attempt to stay relevant in the fast paced modern life - I find it hard to keep up with my rock star wife. When she's not working, she is may be seen departing our serene neighborhood one or sometimes two evenings a week to sing the lead in a band - known as The Dusty BoxCars - seen rockin' the traps of downtown PC, or SLC on a fairly regular basis. The rest of the time, we try to chill by hanging around our seriously forest-encroached cabin home, listening to audio streaming in online from my old homeland Down Unda. We spend quite a bit of each day though serving the demands of our two four-leggeds who compel our attention, taking them out on frequent hikies - then on return finding oursleves being howled around incessantly by the old guy Husky, as well as used to being sat on and shepherded from room to room by the young & crazy Border Collie. Suffice to say though, we do enjoy our lot in life.
