We have been in Nuvsvåg for 10 Day's & had the whole House for ourselves. We didn't get to meet Jarl Hugo in person, but he helped us a lot, with all problems we've had. He fixed our transportation problems, by calling one of his many friends in the village, who brought us from the port, to his house & lended us one of their awesome Norwegian sleights for the time we were in Nuvsvåg. Same thing on our way back, but this time, the husband of the supermarket cashier, brought us not just to the port, but all the way to Alta. (For free!) His place is absolutely gorgeous, you really feel at home at his big house. Everything was clean and prepared for our arrival. 8/10 days we saw the Northern lights, most beautiful they've been on our last night. We tried to put everything back, exactly as it was, but as tired as we were, we forgot to emty the dishwasher, clean the windows of the fireplace & our breakfast tee, I hope you can forgive us, and maybe host us another time in the future, if we get together enough money for another trip.:)
They have a nice supermarket in town, small, but with everything you need. They've run out of thyme, so we couldn't replace it.
We've been cooking every day in Hugo's big kitchen. He has a lot of tools, what you will appreciate, if you're a cooking enthusiast as me... The only thing missing are pans.. for some reason. Else he has absolutely everything you need to live.
Thank you for the nice stay:)
