Yulia is nice host who communicates promptly and efficiently. Her manager, Julia, is also nice but we had some troubles getting in touch and she is not hugely forthcoming with information.
This place is okay and with three large bedrooms, works well for families or large groups of people (though only one key means you need to plan carefully or people will be locked out). The apartment is spacious, bright and generally sufficient, though lacking in some basics (can opener, coffee machine, decent towels). The laundry machine was very appreciated. The outdoor communal spaces are smaller than they look in the pictures and, at least while we were there, there were very few people staying in the complex. It felt a bit like a ghost town.
It is part of a large resort complex and if you are looking for that experience, it is fine. For us, it felt really sterile and lifeless. We were attending a wedding at Angsana Laguna, so the location worked well for that but probably wouldn't have stayed otherwise. Culturally interesting experiences are not to be had at this location, but Phuket is a small island so if you rent a car (recommended!!), you can go exploring. There are free shuttles that run between the different resorts so you can access the amenities at the other resorts (but these will cost you a pretty penny). Within the Laguna, there is a little shopping/strip mall that the shuttles will take you to. Mini mart, clothes shops, cafe, etc. Off-site, in Cherngtalay, there is a pretty high end local shopping/restaurant area adjacent to the Laguna that has some cool stuff worth seeing/doing, like a Friday Night Market, the Phuket Riding Club, golf course, some shops, great restaurants, massage spas, etc. Unfortunately, we had to find all of this out by trial and error because the host didn't provide any information about the area except when asked specifically. It would be helpful to have a welcome/guidebook as so many other Airbnb stays do.
Things we did that were enjoyable:
1. Go to the pool at Angsana Laguna. It will cost you about 500bht/person but it is worth it to spend the day. It is a beautiful pool with beach area, a swim up bar and other lovely amenities.
2. Go to the Friday Night Market in the Village to eat great street food, listen to live music and sample local wares. Grab a massage or a pedicure from one of the many spas surrounding the market, and get your coffee from the cafe on the corner (so good).
3. There is a little restaurant on Bandon-Cherngtalay Rd - Lagoon Rd called Online. Doesn't look like much. Is completely fantastic.
4. Drive to Phuket Town. Go to Kim's Massage and Spa for a real treat and then have dinner at One Chun Cafe and Restaurant for a delicious meal in an eclectic space (try the crab curry!)
