If you like lounging by the pool you will love it here. It is so close to town and Kensington Park facilities yet tucked away in beautiful quiet surrounds. The open plan living area and kitchen open directly out to a large deck/ bbq area and pool. A lovely sunny window seat overlooks the pool.
The main bedroom is really spacious. It has its own deck with lovely morning sun and overlooks the bush. The super king bed has 2 x roll away beds underneath, and these beds could be easily moved to any room. This large room also has its own TV, dining table , and adjacent kitchenette. There is a ranch slider entrance to this room from the parking area, which then opens up to the remainder of the home and other bedrooms.
The 2nd bedroom has another super king bed and a window seat overlooking the bush.
The 3rd bedroom has a king single bed.
The 4th bedroom has a queen bed, and ensuite.
We have said this house sleeps 8, but please note one of the beds is a single roll -away.
The main kitchen has everything you could need. Oven, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/ freezer, plus all the usual kitchen utensils, and dishes.
All the facilities are in separate rooms. In the bedroom end of the house we have a toilet, shower and the bathroom which has a bath. At the pool end of the house there is an ensuite , with shower and toilet.
The laundry has top loading washing machine and dryer. Also a large freezer.
The small kitchenette ( adjacent to the master bedroom) consists of a fridge, microwave, sink, toaster, jug, crockery and cutlery. It is situated in a small room of its own.The photos show this layout very clearly .
You have access to the entire house.
We are on holiday at this time of the year, however we are easily contactable by cellphone should the need arise.
This is an extremely quiet and peaceful home. Birds are plentiful, and relaxing in the deck chairs beside the pool is recommended. It is the perfect base if you want to explore the multitude of amazing beaches which surround our " City of 100 Beaches"
We would appreciate it if any smoking is off the property. Please be considerate of noise levels.

We have lived here for 26 years and our children have grown up, left home and are working in Auckland. We love it here, especially the peace and quiet and all day sun. This, combined with the fact we are so central to the city, are the reasons we haven't moved. I am a teacher at Whangarei Girls High School (Head of Dance), and my husband Mark runs our website design and commercial printing business. We spend as much time as we can, depending on weather, at the beach. Camping, boating, fishing and paddle-boarding are passions of ours. We are also hockey mad! Our daughter plays for the NZ Black Sticks Womens' Hockey team and is on track for the Olympics in 2016, and our son plays for the NZ Black Sticks Mens' Hockey team.
We have stayed at Air BNB's both overseas and in New Zealand while travelling for hockey, and since discovering this form of accommodation, would never go back to motels or hotels. We love the different places, the homely atmospheres and different people we have met, and look forward to extending the same hospitality with our own Airbnb.
