A warm and cosy 2 bedroom cottage just a short walk from the historic and busy country town of Brecon in the National Park. Situated right beside the River Usk with views of the mountains beyond. With a secure yard for bikes and parking for 1 car close by.
This cottage has a 3 Star rating awarded by the government's "Visit Wales" organisation. This specifies that as the second bedroom beds are 2'6" wide, they may only be "marketed" as suitable for children. Use of the cottage for guests with mobility problems may prove difficult.
You will have the whole of the ground floor and first floor bedrooms. Above this is a locked attic room.
A folder has been prepared for the use of guests to understand how the cottage "works", details of local shopping and markets, leisure things to do both locally, in the National Park and further afield.
Smoking is allowed in the small rear courtyard when the back door is closed. We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests' pets.
Permits for fishing the Usk may be obtained from: HM Supplies, The Watton; Welsh Delights, Brecon Town Centre: The Boat House above the weir.

Because of space constraints it is regretted that dogs cannot be accommodated. The cottage stands in a terrace of similar sized cottages, all of which are occupied by their owners. Although the walls are quite thick and very little noise travels across party walls, it is still necessary to keep any noise in the cottage down to tolerable levels. No smoking indoors - the rear yard is available.
Please be considerate as to where you park in the terrace, this subject is covered in more detail elsewhere.
We are a retired couple (Pam was a nursing sister and Tony a civil engineer) who bought this cottage as a "home from home" from our other house in Cardiff. We like to travel off the beaten track in Spanish speaking counties to interact as much as possible with the local people.
We also like take cruises to "interesting" destinations - Yalta, Odessa, Istanbul, Rio, Bu As, the whole of the Med - we are looking forward to August when St Petersburg and the Baltic are on the itinerary.
And when all that travelling is done - there's nothing better than getting back to the peace and quiet of the cottage. That P&Q being sometimes interrupted by having a selection of our 10 grandchildren to stay!
