This has the potential to be a great vacation rental. It is a two real bedroom apartment in South Kensington. Saadia met us upon arrival and showed us around the apartment. When we requested a few more household items ( something to heat water in) Saadia dropped off a kettle and pot the next day. The location and neighborhood are very good. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the Earls' Court underground stop , which is very well connected to many of the tourist attractions in London. Earls Court Road has many basic shops, hardware store, pharmacy, groceries and lots of reasonable restaurants. There is also a huge grocery store two block in the other direction. The neighborhood felt quite safe.
The basic set up of the apartment is fine. It is up the stairs on the third floor ( old building, no elevator). The neighbors were fairly quiet. The kitchen is down a half flight of stairs. There is a clothes washing machine, but no dryer, which I believe is standard for many small British homes. There is a drying rack so if you plan ahead, you can do laundry. The beds were comfortable, though we really could have used some more pillows. The rooms were well insulated from street noise ( could be a problem if you want to sleep with windows open). It was all quite clean. It just needs a few more items to be really comfortable. Such as: a coffee maker, oven mitts - there are baking pans but nothing to take them safely out of the oven, a cutting board, a few clean kitchen towels, an ice cube tray, a microwave (none, despite one in pictures) , a couple larger pots, more pillows, reading lamps - the over head lights are very bright and harsh especially in the bedrooms, more towels- there were three of us and we found exactly three towels -some hand towels and an absorbent bath mat - would be very useful, a roll of paper towels and some Kleenex.
Again, it was safe, clean, and close to a good underground stop. The amenities are currently just a little too basic. I hope Saadia is able to better equip this apartment so future vacationers can enjoy it to it's full potential. It could be a really great place to stay!
