Midst of forest and fields, on a 300 hectare family estate. Cosy and spacious chalet, entirely in Swedish 50's design. Beautiful view, calm and peaceful, tennis court. Perfect spot for kids and family.
The chalet was built in 1958 by my grandparents and lies in the private family estate of Rolley (300 hectares). Peacefully located at the edge of a century old forest, you'll have a great view over lush and green hills. There is tennis court at your disposal. Just 5 min walk away, there is even a historic medieval castle where WWII generals Patton and McAuliffe have stayed.
The chalet is entirely in Swedish style, and very spacious (250 sq m). You'll quietly wake up by the sounds of singing birds, bump into a wild boar, admire the beaver's lodge or say hi to a racoon. Or just enjoy the cosiness of a crackling fire place.
What a perfect spot to relax, enjoy quality time with family and friends. Activities are abundant: walk, play tennis, horse ride or visit Bastogne, the epi centre of 1944's Battle of the Bulge. Belgium is well known for its fine food, so after a perfect day you can satisfy your taste buds in nearby restaurants.
There are 6 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining area, 1 very large living space (fireplace), 1 seperate toilet and 2 bathrooms (both with toilet). It's a real family house, so although all is OK, don't expect the Ritz when it comes to the amenities.
50 mtrs next to the chalet there is small pavillon. Once built as a "playing ground" for her grand children by my grand mother, it is now in use as a small cottage by our aunt, who regularly stays there for her holidays. Privacy should however not be compromised.
Lay out bedrooms:
BR 1: bunk bed 2 x 1p - BR 2: 2 x 1pers - BR 3(URL HIDDEN)BR 4: 1 x 2p - BR 5: 1 x 2p + baby cot - BR6 1 x 2p + bunk bed 2 x 1p
All but one bedrooms have their own sink.
Rent is exclusive linen!
The house has a very large basement, where you can store your sport equipment such as bikes, muddy boots, etc.
Full access to chalet, its tennis court and private domain (garden, fields, forest) surrounding it.
There is a fire place, wood can be bought with the housekeeper.
Certain cupboards are locked.
You can always call me if you need anything.
Rent price is excluded of linen.
Once you arrive at "Lam Huset" (the chalet's name), you'll be received by Yvonne. She will open the door for you an explain how all works.
The basic rule:
this is a 1953 family house. It has a cosy, warm atmosphere. We hope you can enjoy it, and respect the house and the environment. Smoking is not allowed, neither are pets (unless you keep them in the garage).
