This is actually a hotel, one of three on the main street and unfortunately on Fridays Saturdays and Sunday there is very loud music until 2:40am ... so bring your earplugs if you want a peaceful night. The breakfast is served at a small eatery downstairs. Our room was spacious, the water was hot and clean, the beds were comfortable. We did not use the wifi. Given the lack of options, I would recommend Ray's place for all kinds of travelers.

Thanks you so much Nidhi for your feedback, for noting we provided a spacious room, hot and clean shower, comfortable beds and, most importantly for recommending us to other travellers. Travellers looking for affordable, safe, clean, personalized and friendly service always do choose WD’s B&B, as the other options do not compare to ours, and those hotels are located above nightclubs. Charity is a small cozy town, and from our repeat guests and their compliments we know our B&B remains the best place in town to rest your head, and when in transit to Guyana’s rainforest, Venezuela and Georgetown. Our listing does describe the small shopping centre below, providing guests/travellers with personal clean safe shopping and a chance to buy local crafts and products. Also, in Guyana, a “hotel” licence is required to operate a B&B and the word “hotel” must be displayed on property. We are so very sorry the hotel across the street was noisy, and thanks for letting us know (we wish you had told us during your stay). We have been working with the local police to bring under control as it’s required to stop loud music at 11PM. Honestly it is the first time that a guest has mention the noise issue to us and our regular guests include families, the Catholic missionaries, the Red Cross and government officials. Our listing description and photos do accurately reflect the service and environment we provide for our guests, as well as activities they can do visiting that part of Guyana. We do take pride in ensuring your stay is safe, comfortable and enjoyable, and we thank you for staying with us.

I came back for one more night after my initial trip to recharge before continuing my journey. It was just as wonderful as the first time! The WD tours are worth making the trip up to Charity!

Getting to WDs Hotel (WDs Rainforest Suites) in Charity is half the fun! The property itself was built in 2011 and the owners are very friendly people who want to share the beauty of the Pomeroon River with visitors. The hotel rooms have air conditioning, porches, and a mini fridge and there is a nice lounge area and rooftop with an open air gym. The restaurant downstairs has great breakfast! The highlight of my trip was a tour to the Amerindian villages that included a stay at the sister guesthouse, WD Wilderness Retreat - about an hour by boat from Charity. The house is right on the river and there are hiking trails and beautiful sun rises/sunsets. It is so peaceful! I loved it. Some things I loved about the tour: traveling up smaller rivers, seeing monkeys in the trees, chatting with people at the villages and visiting the school and cassava field. Both villages and rivers (Wakapao tribitary and Maruca) were very different and gave me insight into the Amerindian cultures. I also did the Lake Mainstay day tour, which is a peaceful area and beautiful lake but very quiet during the week. Once the hiking trails are complete it will be a really nice trip for groups during dry season. I enjoyed the stops at the locks, airstrip, and monument on the way up. Between the two, I enjoyed the overnight tour the best. I look foward to doing more tours the next time I'm in Guyana :) Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I have travelled all over the world and love experiencing the cultures and adventures of the wilderness...however, Guyana's Pomeroon River and Charity Amazon region is where I rather be. Basking in the tranquility and beauty of the nature, the fresh cool Atlantic air, enjoying the tasty awesome foods, and surrounded by the fun-loving adventurous people! WD's Rainforest Suites will provide you (and your family) a clean, safe, fun, comfy place to rest your head throughout your stay. Ensuring that you have the most enjoyable and relaxing time, and maybe include some adventure tours into the surrounding rainforest and rivers, and swim the refreshing beautiful waters. It would be wonderful to welcome you to WD's on Charity and the Pomeroon River!
