Hidden at the end of a no through lane, surrounded by apple trees, you will find the beautiful Famous Five wagon waiting for you to arrive. You will sleep in the gypsy caravan (once used in the TV series of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five) pulled on to an old cider apple orchard.
Spend your time relaxing around the campfire or exploring the many local historic sites including the famous town of Glastonbury. For the shoppers amongst you, there is Clarks Village an outlet area with many a bargain to be had.
Cooking can be done on the open fire (logs provided) or in the conventional caravan found adjacent to the gypsy wagon. Here you will also find a fridge. The shepherd's Hut has a beautiful bathroom within and the toilet nearby is a compost loo.
This is glamping at its best.
Emily rears her own chickens, sheep and pigs. Sausages, eggs and other meat will be available to buy from them on arrival or order when booking.
There is a pub The Castlebrook Inn about a 20 minute brisk walk away. This is an unspoilt traditional pub, selling an excellent range of local ales, cider and home made food. Here, you will find good company in an old country inn.
The orchard is about half an acre in size and it is available exclusively for use by the gypsy caravan guests. You don't share this with anyone. In season you can even eat the apples!
Experience peace and tranquillity alone or come and see the animals we have at Bartletts Farm including Boris the donkey.
to relax and have fun
I am a fun loving outdoor going mother of three. I have travelled in many parts of the world by bicycle and before having children was a primary school teacher. I now live an idyllic life in rural Somerset surrounded by ponies, sheep, chickens, pigs and my family of course. I run the our smallholding and have just bought a gypsy caravan which I want to let out to people so that I can share the lovely palace I live in.
