My husband and I enjoyed three beautiful nights in this gorgeous, art-filled home and its idyllic seaside location. It was all that we’d hoped and more. We loved the Marina Fe junior suite with its comfortable bed and glorious private shaded balcony. We enjoyed a breakfast each morning of fruit, ham, eggs toast, coffee and fresh pineapple juice served on the patio overlooking the ocean. Havana is a large, bustling, sprawling city and you will need a cab to get to the old city. While you give up proximity to the city center, you get in return an incredibly tranquil and beautiful place to relax and enjoy the ocean.
Isabel, Zu’s mother, is the manager of the family-owned property. She is a charming, gracious and caring hostess. Although she does not speak English, we were able to communicate with my limited Spanish and hand gestures. She was very helpful in arranging for Santiago and his amazing wife Noelevis to provide us with a nighttime tour of the city in their vintage taxi. Pedro, Isabel’s genial brother, provided comfortable airport transport (and patiently waited when our flight was delayed several hours). I cannot wait until we can return to this paradise by the sea.
