Our spacious house is great for multi-family trips or larger groups, in a secluded location near Mount Snow. Kid-friendly and good for adults too. Enjoy the large deck and garden through the spring, summer, and fall!
Enjoy the run of a five bedroom house on an acre of land near the Mount Snow resort in southern Vermont.
The house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac among trees, overlooking a bend in the Deerfield river. It's a ten-minute drive to the slopes of Mount Snow, and a further half-hour to Stratton.
It sleeps ten in two kings, one queen, and two double twin bedrooms. (There's a sofabed, too, for an extra guest.)
So it's great for large groups or multi-family use.
The house is child-friendly with a cot and high chair as well of stacks of toys and other distractions (the two living areas each have TV, DVD players, and video games).
Our housekeeper preps the house with fresh linens before every visit and tidies up afterwards, so you can rest assured it's ready for you. We also provide a 24/7 number you can use to reach a local property manager in case of any emergencies.
The main kitchen has a microwave, large fridge/freezer, gas oven and grill, coffee maker, toaster, waffle iron, and enough utensils to satisfy a master chef. We even have recipe books in the library should you feel adventurous.
Our house is just up the hill from a well-stocked grocery/farmer's deli that opens 8am-8pm every day of the year, so you don't need to go far to hunt down dinner!
The dining table ordinarily seats up to eight but can be extended to seat 10. We have tableware for 18 people as well as loads of glasses and mugs. And yes, there is a dishwasher!
There's lots to do in nearby Wilmington and West Dover...
Year-round: Lots of dining, shopping, and sightseeing choices.
Winter: Skiing or boarding at Mount Snow; snowmobiles all around; Nordic skiing too. Sleigh rides at the Boyd Farm.
Summer: Several golf courses within a few minutes' drive, and the house is just minutes from watersports and the beach (!) at Lake Raponda. There's fishing, too, but get a permit. And of course hiking in the Green Mountains.
We've owned this house since 2004 and we still use it regularly ourselves. Friends and family love visiting.
Come see for yourself!
Guests have full access to the house and garden, but the garage is used for storage so parking is outdoors.
We are available by phone or email during your stay, and in case of emergencies where we are unreachable, there is a local property manager.
There is a small grill in the garage, but we rely on anyone using it to keep it clean for the next guest. It uses small propane cartridges which are available from Shaw's supermarket in nearby Wilmington.
The hot tub is *not* active, sorry. Please don't try to use it.
Absolutely no smoking in the house. Other than that, please just treat the house as if it were your own.
Small dogs are fine, please ask about other pets.
We are very flexible on check-in and check-out times - just ask.
Keys are held in a lockbox and we'll give detailed instructions about a week before your visit.
On departure, we ask you to leave all trash inside the garage for later collection (don't want bears disturbing the neighbors!).
If you need any recommendations for dining or other activities, please ask (we also have some personal favorites listed here on the site).
I'm a Scotsman who now calls Seattle home. I've lived in the US since the mid-90s, mostly in NYC, although I had a four-year stint in Hong Kong. I used to work for a big bank but I quit a few years ago.
I like soccer (both playing and watching), snowboarding, going to the theater, and good music (e.g. Jesus & Mary Chain, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, St Etienne). I'm a proud Apple fanboy.
