Start your day with a visit at the Shinto Shrine just right in front of the Apartment Suite.
Located just three minutes away from Higashi-Kanagawa, a recently renovated apartment awaits you after a day of business/travel from Tokyo and Yokohama.
(For Tokyo/Shinjuku listings, please check at the end of the description for other accommodations offered by the host)
A recently renovated apartment suite in a building that's been standing for thirty years, located in one of Yokohama's quaint neighborhood.
Dark and light brown themed wall paint, a faded brick accent wallpaper, and a modern set of black and white furniture makes the apartment modern, classy, and yet with a cozy and homey feel. Relax yourself with a very comfortable couch while watching your favorite TV show (available on Hulu) on a 40-inch REGZA, with a cup of Ceylon Tea after a long day's travel.
The kitchen is fully-equipped with a gas stove, a grill, and two sets of pans and pots; home-cooked meal cravings will surely be satisfied. House blend coffees from a drip-filter, or a Nescafe blend coffee from the coffee machine will surely give you the caffeine you need to jump start your day. Order take-out from your recently-discovered Japanese cuisine and heat it up with the adjustable-temperature microwave oven and have it at home nice and warm.
A newly installed washlet in the toilet makes the whole difference for the Japanese experience - those automatic buttons Japanese toilets are so famous for. A clean set of tissue is always set, with a small sink on the top just right for the hands.
The shower is integrated with the bathroom sink which can feel a bit stiff but it's enough space to get a hot/cold shower. On the side there's an old small Japanese-style bath tub if you wanna sit and relax with the hot water flowing and some bath salts.
The bedroom is literally a bedroom, with almost 80% of it being occupied by two single beds joined together, which can be separated if more than one guest would be accommodated. The mattress is very soft and comfortable to sleep on, so whether its a good night sleep or a nice afternoon nap is what you are needing after a day of travelling, then this is definitely the place for you. Oversleeping would be the only problem. (Note: as there are two single beds inside the room it can feel a bit stuffy but still very comfortable, luggage can be placed outside near the washing machine to have more space inside the bedroom)
Everything is accessible except for the closet.
On weekdays (workdays) I can help you get around in the evening. I leave quite early for work in the mornings around 7:00 AM so if you wake up before that I can help you as well.
On weekends I'm usually around so if there's anything you need just let me know and we can figure something out.

Hi! My name is Luis Catalan, a Filipino who has been living in Japan since 2012.
Non-Smoker. Pasta Lover. Chill Next-Door Neighbor.
I love travelling, whether alone or with friends, whether on the road or on the train, whether hiking up the mountains or walking by the coast.
From swimming to skiing, to both scuba and sky diving, adventure is something I seek; but enjoying a cup of coffee while reading a good book or chatting with someone is something I go back to once in awhile as well.
My work mainly deals with technical and engineering management, and gadget shops are like my happy place. But dropping by a local museum or theater every once in a while is always refreshing.
Because of the nature of my work, I've been around in Japan both for business and travelling, like Okinawa, Hokkaido, Kyoto, Osaka and the Tohoku Region.
I also used to go around Tokyo a lot, even walked the Yamanote Line (50km of train tracks) for fourteen hours before as part of OXFAM's fund-raising event.
If you have any questions before or during your stay about sights to see, what foods to try, and how to communicate well without getting lost in translation, feel free to ask me anytime and I'll get back to you as soon as I'm awake and online.
Let's make your stay a great, comfortable, and a memorable one!
