This is a private room in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house right by the Androscoggin River. The house is walking distance to downtown Lewiston-Auburn and is also well-positioned to major roadways for easy access to Freeport, Portland, etc. For larger parties, there is a second bedroom across from the first with a double bed available, as well as a sleeper chair for one.
The well-lit, dual aspect bedroom includes a full bed and nightstand, plus a reading nook by the double window. With a closet and two sets of built-in drawers, there is plenty of storage for one or two people. For parties of three or more, there is a second bedroom across the hall with a full bed and plenty of storage. There is also a sleeper chair suitable for a fifth guest if needed. Both rooms have their own electric heat and A/C.
The two bedrooms are the only rooms upstairs, so there is plenty of privacy. Your private bathroom is located on the ground floor, next to your sitting room, but a wall between the staircase and the main living room provides some separation for you if I am home. Please see the rough floor plan in the photos.
Please note that using the second bedroom does not double the price on the listing. You would be charged only the extra person rate of $10 per person for each additional guest after the first two. The Airbnb listing does not allow me to include two bedrooms under a Room in a House type of listing, so if you are a party of 3-5, please ignore anything that suggests it is only one room.
In addition to the private upstairs bedroom, guests will also have access on the ground floor to their own private shower room, a sitting room, full kitchen and dining room. There is an unfinished basement with a washing machine and dryer that guests can use during longer stays. The large back yard with picnic table is also free for use. During winter when street parking is prohibited overnight, guests can use the garage for one car.
I am typically at home on weekday early mornings and evenings, and I am in and out throughout the weekend. I am happy to provide recommendations for eating out, things to do in the area, etc. If I'm unavailable, guests can look through the folder I've left in the bedroom for inspiration--it's full of menus, brochures, maps, and coupons.
I have one cat in the house (Lily), but she is shy and you may never see her. If you should encounter her wanting to go outside, it's okay during the day, but not at night.
No smoking in the house. If you smoke outside, please wet the end of the butt for safety and dispose of it in the kitchen trash or in the outdoor trash barrel.
