A large room with queen bed made up with quality linen. You have the choice of relaxing at the table, in the armchair or window seat, but we think you might choose one of the two deliciously sunny verandas. The room has its own ensuite and TV.
Our home is set in a residential setting on Napier Hill, on an easy to find road that runs directly to and from the city centre. A five minute walk gets you down to the centre of town. The walk home may take slightly longer as it is uphill (but we don't think it's steep). It is about 400m from the bottom of the hill to our place.
We are offering accommodation in our home because this room is too nice not to share.
Your room comes equipped with all that you need for a continental breakfast - kettle, toaster, tea, plunger coffee, sugar, milk, cereal, preserved fruit, spreads (homemade jams included), and fresh homemade bread delivered to your door in the morning.
Kitchen facilities are not available. Guests dine out for lunch and evening meals.
Guests have their own room with en-suite shower/WC, TV and small fridge. There are two verandas to choose from where you can enjoy your coffee, wine or maybe just a good book. Both are very sunny and covered – one has views across the residential area with a lovely greenscape. The other allows you to enjoy the substantial bird life in our (soon to be) tamed garden. Guests are also welcome to use the laundry. Free Wifi is available.
We greet our guests, answer any questions you may have and then we leave you to your own devices. Murray is often on hand if you need anything extra and Pauline is around during the holiday seasons. We have one cat (not encouraged to "visit" the guest area) but you are welcome to interact with him if you see him around. On occasion we dog sit pooches whose families don’t want them staying in impersonal kennels. Again, these part time pets are not allowed in guest areas.
Hawke's Bay - great climate, great wineries, great cycling and walking, great beaches...what's not to love? Come and enjoy.
No smoking at all thanks.
We welcome guests to our quiet, friendly home. This is not the place to stay if you want to party!
Pauline loves to chat (but she was a teacher in another life) while Murray (the handyman) will sit back and listen. Our email sums up one of our passions - coffee. Wine and food are high on the list too which is why Napier is a great place for us to live. We have had a great time with our international boarders in the past having had a Japanese student and two English hospitality workers stay with us.
