We are both ex- farmers from south of Christchurch, NZ. After both being brought up as children over here on Banks Peninsula and being away for 40 years, we have come back to our roots, the hills and the sea, and the place we both hold very special, while still being close to our 3 children and family.
Potters Croft was the ideal place for us to come, our own piece of paradise in the heart of the seaside town of Akaroa. Our property has a large 2 acre garden on a small block of land just 400m from the main street of Akaroa. It is a very private, quiet space and often we don’t realise how bustling the little village can get in the busy season, while being only a 5 minute walk away.
Our interests are; gardening, painting, diving, hunting and gathering (esp crayfish and seafood) walking and running, cooking, meat curing, yoga, reading and following all types of sport.
We farmed from our early 20s so have just begun our travel adventures. We love France, northern Italy and Switzerland, Ireland and the UK and next year are heading to Greece, Italy and Turkey.
Stew and I are new to Airbnb and when you stay with us we can offer you as much privacy or as much interaction as you desire, and are very happy to offer advice on great things to do, places to walk, restaurants we can recommend, drives around the wider area of the Peninsula. We love it when our guests wander around the garden and encourage them to spend time in it.
