Honey Fields Cottage is set in beautiful park-like gardens within an avocado orchard, with all day sun. It has a cosy fireplace & beautiful sunset views over the Kaimai Ranges - a little piece of paradise!

The perfect retreat for a romantic get-away from city life, the cottage is ideal for one couple with a big comfy queen sized bed in the main bedroom. The 2nd bedroom also has a comfy queen sized bed. Access to the main bedroom is either through the 2nd bedroom or via the front patio.

The cottage is in it's own private garden area with patio dining areas for morning and evening sun, a relaxing double hammock under the trees, and lovely garden views over the Tauranga Harbour. It is set up a long driveway with no traffic noise, just lots of birdsong.

The hosts, Pete & Lou, try not to be intrusive. However they will be on hand to offer any help or advice you may wish for. When you arrive you will be welcomed with fresh flowers and fruit from our home orchard as well as plenty of avocados of course.

The kitchen comes equipped with a small bench-top oven, single hot plate and a microwave. There is also a Weber barbeque with hot plate outside, perfect for cooking anything from bacon and eggs to a full roast.

We enjoy peace so please no loud music, loud late night partying or bringing other people onto the property. You are welcome to enjoy the gardens but please stay out of the avocado orchard unless you've checked with us first.

This was a cute little cottage on a beautiful piece of land! Very welcoming hosts. It's more of a summer cottage, so just be aware if you're staying when it's colder out (we were there in late May), the cottage does get fairly cool inside. There's a nice wood burning stove, blankets, and the bed stays very warm, so it's not bad, but just be aware if you're very sensitive to the cold.

Louise was an extremely gracious, kind, and immaculate host. Melissa and I again (common theme...) arrived rather late, but after some guesswork about the driveways we found Louise up and happy to escort us across the lawn to park in front of the cottage for easy unpacking. It is completely detached from her/their home, and sits overlooking a beautiful field. The cottage itself has a lot of character and history, is clean and excellently appointed, is very sunny, and is surrounded by flowers; also, a cute and quaint patio with chairs and a table out front are provided, encouraging you to slow things down and enjoy the scenery. And what scenery: situated on the grounds of her family's farm, the cottage's hill overlooks acres of planted fruit trees, and is almost touched by some GIANT hardwood trees straight out of a "Country Living" magazine. It was unbelievably quiet at night, with zero light pollution, and the midnight walk we took through the field under the full moon and skyful of stars was one of my favorite memories from our two weeks in New Zealand. We slept with flowers brushing the open windows, and woke up to birdcalls. Louise had left us a bowl brimming with fruit picked on her property: beautiful apples, pears, passionfruit, and the best and freshets avocados I've ever had. Preparing to leave, we appreciated Louise's practical printed instructions: please clean up after yourself (strip beds/pillows, clean surfaces, make sure toilet is clean), or if you'd rather not, please leave $30 NZD. We opted for the former, but appreciated having options nonetheless. The nearby restaurant "The Long Table" is an absolute MUST, and was our favorite breakfast of the whole vacation. The location is perfect, at the Southeast "base" of the beautiful Coromandel peninsula, and leaves plenty of options to spend a sunny, cloudy, or rainy day. Can't say enough good things about this place. For those couples or families seeking a quiet, private, cozy night, this place would be very hard to beat. Thanks Louise for a wonderful stay!

Lovely Cottage on an Avocado Orchard. The cottage is very private on a separate section of the very large estate. It was a lovely experience walking in an Orchard for city folks like us. Louise was a wonderful host who showed us around the cottage and the orchard, and directed us around Katikati, where we shopped at a farmers' market.

Very nice little cottage. My mother in law, my partner, our 1-month old baby boy and I have had a great stay! Waking up with birds singing, being surrounded by green, grass, beautiful trees, walking around an avocado orchad, lighting up a fire to share a Glass of wine or a cup of tea, looking at the stars and having breakfast in the morning sun (with some home-grown avocados and kiwis), great experience. Thank you Lou
