Whether you’re looking to escape for one night or a longer stay in the countryside, complete peace and quiet and gourmet cuisine await you at our riverside retreat. Torgo Talu Guesthouse sits in an old orchard by the Velise River where you can enjoy freedom from city life and immerse yourself in the simple pleasures of the countryside.
This cosy riverside guest cottage offers the perfect weekend escape. Located near the hamlet of Vana-Vigala, Torgo Talu is about one hour and 15 minutes from Tallinn and 45 minutes from Pärnu.
The guest cottage sleeps four people comfortably, with the possibility of adding a spare bed. It offers accommodation with the option of dinner in the evenings or breakfast in the morning. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main house. Your host Kristina, a professionally-trained chef with a MA in Gastronomy, culls her inspiration from her world travels. She offers menus based on the freshest local ingredients, many of which she grows in the garden herself.
In spring, the grounds at Torgo Talu come to life with daffodils and colourful tulips. Scents of fragrant apple tree blossoms and lilacs fill the air. During the summer months watch the garden come to life and in autumn enjoy the bounty of the harvest.
You can enjoy the gardens, riverside terrace, take walks in the rural countryside, or fish in the river. Couples can enjoy a secluded romantic weekend, while watching the sun set over the meandering river. In the evening, relax in the wood-fired hot tub, or rejuvenate in our traditional Estonian wooden sauna. Birdwatchers may see dozens of species right on the property or on a visit to nearby Matsalu National Park (20 minutes drive), one of Europe's best birdwatching sites.
No need to lift a finger--you can lounge about and take it easy. Breakfast is served in the main house; you can help yourself to coffee or tea in the guest cottage and enjoy it on the private porch overlooking the river. Get up when you like and enjoy the quiet of the countryside.
We have a cosy guest cottage that can sleep up to four people. Upstairs you will find a queen size bed with fresh linen and downstairs, a double bed that is smaller, but equally comfortable. I'm originally from Toronto, Canada, but my background is Estonian. I love travelling and exploring the cuisines of new places. I have travelled the world cooking and am now settled in Estonia where I work as a food writer. Staying at my guest house is relaxing and cosy, where you can enjoy great food and beautiful countryside scenery. I hate the word foodie, but that's what I am.
