Come relax and enjoy all that Hot Springs has to offer...historic downtown, art galleries, Bath House Row, Oaklawn Jockey Club & Casino, boating, fishing, Mountain Tower, Magic Springs Theme Park, Garvan Woodland Gardens and great restaurants. Pet friendly North Woods B&B in Hot Springs is located on the north end of town and we have four rooms open on the second floor in a beautiful quiet neighborhood with no traffic noises. The other three rooms have a king size bed and two queen size beds in the other rooms.
We have opened up our home for you and are excited about our excellent reviews. This lovely "Mermaid Room" on the second floor features a king size bed with down comfort pad. Comfort is our business. We have decorated this room with a ceiling painting of the ocean. It was painted several years ago by my daughter, Ashley. She was an art major in high school and then in college. The canopy was made from fabric designed in India and we added real star fish. Lovely ruffled curtains adorn the window with more star fish.
If you have a pet, there is plenty of room to romp in the front yard. I serve a great warm buffet breakfast. The heat and cool thermostat is right outside your room to regulate the entire top floor. Please do not turn it off. If you get cold there are extra blankets and quilts. The beautiful bath is roomy with a large bathtub with shower; double sinks; recently completely redone in all tile with a Western theme. We supply shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, etc. In addition to the TV in the living room you have a TV in your room and we have WIFI and I give you the name and password when you arrive. The fan overhead in your room and central air conditioning and heat thermostat in the hallway make you quite comfortable. There is an ironing board and iron in the hallway for your use. You have your own key to the front door and your room.
If you have children, please call and talk to us. Ages and conversation about them will be helpful. I raised three children and have grandchildren.
This home has quite a history as it was once a gaming house at the turn of the century. As you arrive you will see our sign on the stone wall. Go through the stone and iron gates up the long driveway toward the two-story traditional Southern manor house. On your left is a yard full of enormous 117-year-old trees. It was the only house for miles in the horse and buggy days. It has been updated many times.
When you arrive at the house there is a stone wall showing you where to park by the arch. Pull up to the sidewalk so that vehicles can turn around in the driveway. A stone walkway starting with an archway entrance leads you to the lovely front porch and the front entrance. Be sure to enjoy the large front porch later. This is the only place for smoking.
When you open the front door you enter the foyer and there is a large sunken living room on the left. We personally designed the stone fireplace with native stone in the living room when we purchased the property.. We use the fireplace on cold nights. This main room has access to comfortable seating with a TV with a piano in the corner. There is a game-room table with cards and games for you to enjoy.
Also, from the foyer on the right a large dining room greets you with a large handmade hutch and handmade trestle farmers dining table that was specifically designed to fit the size of the room. It was built by a local craftsman. This room makes a lovely space for any occasion. This is where you will receive your light buffet breakfast in the morning.
If you have a pet the large front yard is a perfect place for many walks. Photographers would love to book our front yard because of the natural backgrounds and fence, stone walls, walkway, and covered wagon.
There is an information book in your room if you are more interested in hiking and parks. Check the (URL HIDDEN) website for upcoming events. There is lots to do in Hot Springs.
Five minutes down a winding road to Gulpha Gorge National Park camp ground and recreation area is a delightful picnic site. Magic Springs Amusement Park (summer facility) is just a 5 minute drive from your door, and it's 22 minutes to the swimming and sailing of the sparkling lakes. You can also rent a boat on Lake Hamilton on Hwy. 7 South.
Lots of stuff nearby from the Mid America Museum, to crystal mines, and the magic show.
We hope you enjoy your stay and tell your friends.
You will receive a key to the front door when you check in at 3 o'clock or after in the afternoon and a key to your private room upstairs. You will have access to the living room, dining room, front porch and yard. Please remember that breakfast starts at 8:30 am. No other meals are served. If you do not plan on eating breakfast please let me know the night before. You are welcome to take your breakfast plate to the front porch if weather permits.
My phone number is on the brochure in your room or in the dining room. Please text me with any questions. I have created a very informative book about Hot Springs that is in your room but I will be able to answer your questions. Check (URL HIDDEN) for upcoming events. There are lots of special events all year round listed there. I will be here when you check in and when you check out. Sometimes I am busy with my grandchildren and am picking them up but most of the time I am here. If you see my white Toyota van in the driveway I am at home. Otherwise you can call me on my cell phone. If you have a question about how something works, please let me know. There is a flashlight in your room if there is a storm and the lights go out.
The fan in your room is controlled with your light switch on and off with the light and with the pull strings. It works very well. If you have any problems call me. My phone number is in your room on the brochure card.
Part of the house is blocked off for family privacy. I hope you understand. I do have my own pets but I keep them separated from my guests in my section of the house and in the back yard, too.
If you bring a pet let me know in advance. I have a $40 pet fee per pet (non refundable) that is not listed on Airbnb. Please pay this fee in cash when you arrive. The front yard is huge but not fenced in.
I have a roll-away bed that is $30 cash for an extra person. Extra persons is also $30 cash in addition to the bed.

North Woods Bed and Breakfast has been my home for over thirty five years. My husband and I started buying collectibles as we could afford them while raising our three children and putting them through college along the way. My motto is that “people are more important than things.” And I always try to create something to look forward to. It makes life more exciting. As a business consultant my husband realized that we could use this amazing property with lots of space for raising our brood and entertaining as well. As for me, I majored in Art when I met my husband in college and have been making my crafts for many years and have displayed my results in my spacious home. We have had many “Open House” weekend craft sales throughout the years. I am well known for this endeavor. I use the sewing machine for a paint brush and create my own designs for wallhangings and Christmas stockings. Plus, I do creative painting on furniture and smaller pieces. It holds many memories for me and I have decided to share its warm and inviting qualities with overnight guests. With my children close by to help, I am pleased to host for Airbnb. Our large front yard, tall one hundred year old trees, and old stone walls invite guests to enjoy its spacious beauty. We love our pets as well, and enjoy their company. I like the country style of decorating and have fun looking for antiques, but I don't overdo it. I love to watch TV and relax with my IPAD. I have a group of friends that I keep connecting with. I also sell handmade antique quilts and vintage tablecloths on ebay. Keeping busy is important to me. I like to visit my daughter in Portland, Oregon, when I fly out there. I love B & B hosting and staying in them. Its a real comfort. They are clean and comfortable.
