University City is a young and hip neighborhood that it's also within 5 minutes from Philly's main cultural and historical sites. The studio is located in one of the main streets in Philadelphia, Chestnut St so please keep in mind that while you are enjoying the benefits of a centric location, this also means that there will be passing traffic outside of your window. If you are someone who has trouble to sleep this should be something to consider although 98% of my guest never complain about it.
The space accommodates up to four people. Two in the bed and two more in a convertible sofa. Although it is a studio, it is spacious enough to make your stay a comfortable one. You will have to your disposition a fair size bathroom and fully equipped kitchen as well. I provide butter, home'made jams, tea and coffee but no bread or perishable foods are provided. Please keep this in mind if you are planning to cook at the studio. Cooking oil, salt, pepper and many other spices are also provided for you cooking.
Front door of the building. You will be given two keys, one for the front door of the building and one to enter the studio.
I am renting my space because I am moving next door with a friend, but I will always meet you upon your arrival at the studio, unless I am not able to in which case I will communicate to you how to get the keys. I hand in the keys personally, so you will always have a chance to talk to me and I will try to answer any questions you may have about how to get around, places to visit, etc.
Some rules to keep in mind:
- I usually ask my guests to refer from being too loud after the wee hours. My neighbors are either students or young professionals and are usually very friendly and relax but they all have busy schedules and I will like not to interfere too much with their rest time so I can keep renting the space.
-The kitchen if fully equipped for use but please clean the dishes after yourself.
- I provide a lint roller in the apartment in case that you are traveling with pets, please use it to make sure pet hair is removed from the sofa. You don't have to do anything else, I will clean the rest.
-For check-out, please communicate with me so I can give instructions as to where to leave the keys.
I appreciate your help and thank you for choosing the studio for your stay!

I am currently attending school in Philadelphia but lived previously in Miami for the last five years. Before that I lived in Cuba, where I was born and raised. I come from a family of professionals that turned to the hospitality industry when the country hit one of its worse economic crisis. My father is an engineer and my mother is a preschool teacher that suddenly had to leave their professions in order to run a bed and breakfast in one of the most beautiful beach towns in Cuba: Varadero. What it seemed at the beginning like a tough decision became a life-changing experience for my parents. I was brought up around the hospitality business that my parents created from an old beach front family house that was almost in ruins when we relocated from our apartment in Havana. The hospitality business not only put food on my plate and clothes on my back, but it gave me a sense of service and entrepreneurship. After a year of living in Philadelphia, I decided that it was time that it tried as a host of Airbnb and try my hand on a familiar and loved business. So whether you stay at “University City Studio” or I stay over as a guest, please know that, as my parents, I have come to understand that serving people in their personal journeys is a meaningful journey in itself.
Let’s travel and wonder forever.
