Merci Joacim ! We really loved the calm and beautiful nature around the house. Nice to row on the little lake, to walk or bike around ! The house is very clean, convenient, great for family, and "paradise for children" (our kids say) ! A lot of things to do on sunny or rainy days : Hockey in the barn, football in the garden, badminton, fishing... Joacim was really easy to reach and very friendly, and his mother made us a delicious "sverige kaka" to welcome us in the house. Thank you so much Yvonne ! Lonsas is a place we really recommand to all the people who love nature, calm, and perfect for families !
Yvonne met us at the house after waiting for a long time. We got lost getting there. Joacim had to guide us on the phone since our GPS couldn't find the road since it is in such a remote area. The house is great for families - other than the lack of a bathtub. There is so much space inside and out. I wish we could have experienced the lake and the bikes more. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for us this time. The area is beautiful and secluded. The lake across the way is fantastic and bikes and a canoe are provided. The closest town is about 7-10 miles away, so get your groceries on the way and enjoy your time in the Swedish countryside.
Lonsås is a little winter wonderland. The plan we had in mind was kind of simple: we would go to Sweden right after Xmas to either spend a tremendous time out there in nature, feel at least some cold air at our skins and also having a little bit of snow would have been nice in the end... Our kids plan was even simplier than that: "We want to go fishing!" (and don't even care about its wintertime;-). Sounds ok, so far. And it ended to be exactly like this: a lovely place, out there in Småland, very cold, but enough of snow to do slay-riding, always enough wood for the fireplace and almost no neighbours besides the one very friendly farmer up the hill to get fresh eggs for breakfast! To get into details: we were searching for a kind of traditional red coloured place inbetween the woods, nxt to a lake that would make us feel at home, sitting next to the fireplace, providing us with a well equipped kitchen and the place you would need to come together, but letting the kids enough space to explore something on their own. What we found was Lönsås. And Lönsås turned out to be a little winter wonderland. We also met with Joacim and his family. And they are lovely. From the very first email, Joacim was very helpful, giving us the feeling, that he is an open minded person, who cares about the location and the guests in a positive way. Every single question we had, he answered very quickly by mail. When we finally made a call to speak about the last details and confirm the time of arrival, he was very friendly and open minded again. All seemed to be uncomplicated and it was. When we first met at Lonsås and he and his family were giving us a nice and warm welcome, there was a fire burning in the cheminee, the house was cleaned up, and even though it is a 150 years old, it did make us feel like it is really in a good and clean shape. Maybe this is why Lonsås is still offering some character: It is rather a place to live, not a location to rent. the owners family still is spending their holidays there and everything you would need and expect to spend a tremendous vacation is provided and we were allowed to use it: the canoe to go out on the small but lovely lake, some bikes and also for children, a lot of space and ground to be explored and even some of traditional games for long evenings inside. The kids loved this place and so we all do! Joacim, thank you for the new years cake again that was very jummy! And yes, we had wonderful snow, and also before that we were able to catch a last fish that still is around next year;-)
