The apartment is located in Roma Norte, the hippest hood in Mexico City. Its about a block from Parque Rio de Janeiro (among the most beautiful in the city), and the neighborhood has an amazing assortment of restaurants, cafes, bars, and boutiques.

It was so stressful to get the keys as he was changing his mind very often. The day we arrived he hosted a party with kinda hippies guys, very noisy till 5:00 am, too much smoke went straight to our room we could not sleep. We left next day after not feeling confortable and safe.

Unfortunately we did not meet Greg because he was leaving for holidays before we arrived. The good thing is that we had the entire apartment for ourselves ! He did organise everything at the last minute for us to find the place and organise the keys in a locker box and even contacted a friend as a backup in case we had any issue during our stay. Anyway Greg was available by phone or email to answer any question we had ! The apartment was clean enough and as he told us himself it is a bit kooky but you get used to it ( well for the price you cannot expect a 5 star hotel and it worths it !). Good location close to the metro and facilities. Quiet and safe. We enjoyed our stay here and loved Mexico City ! Thanks Greg

Checking in to this place was a bit chaotic. Greg notified me that he was not going to be there, so I had to get the keys from a neighbor around the corner, which was a bit hectic since I had all of my luggage with me. The neighbor asked me for a tip, which I didn't know I was supposed to provide. I later saw a message from the host, saying that he left the tip for her in his room. It was just too much of a hectic process to check in. The room was clean and spacious and located right in the heart of Roma, which was quite nice and convenient. Unfortunately during my stay, there was electrical work being done on the building, so I was without electricity for a day (this is just bad luck). He texted me instructions for the water heater which was more complicated to figure out of what I expected, and me and my girlfriend were unable to shower for a day until he arrived. He was nice and kind overall. But I wouldn't stay again on his place.

An unfortunate reaction, but some important details are missing. Upon receiving her request to book (for just 2 nights), I told Carla (Niña) that I would be out of town for their arrival and that I was going to buy a lockbox to leave her the keys (approving because I thought I could find this item). Shortly after, I learned from the local key & lock shop (that I'd been told had lockboxes) that such an item (with a combo lock) was not common in Mexico and hard to find, so I wrote her again and told her to hold off on booking until I could find a lockbox or confirm another way to get her keys. Carla went ahead and booked it anyway after this. I searched the next day high and low for hours throughout the city for a lockbox to no avail (I've since ordered one online and imported). So I arranged to have a neighbor be available to meet Carla with the keys, and offered the neighbor $5 to perform the chore (this is the "tip" mentioned), the only real way to make sure the rendezvous would happen. Carla arrived later than she predicted she would so it was a good thing I did this. Mind you I took the hit for the arrangement (writing instructions to Carla to pay the neighbor and that I had left that amount of cash for Carla in my room) when handed the keys (to which she said they had no cash, so the neighbor had to come to my place to collect it) and never charging Carla more for her stay. Yes a bit complicated but the only way to ensure Carla would gain entry without a problem. It doesn't appear the extra effort and expense, for a 2 night low priced stay, on her behalf was appreciated. I certainly do sympathize with the lack of hot water. All that happened though is that the pilot light went out (first time since I've been here, possibly due to the work they were doing). This was easily remedied when I returned the afternoon after Carla and her friend arrived, but somehow they had been unable to follow the instructions to do it themselves. The power issue was a replacement of the building's meters, of which I had not been informed ahead of time. I saw ahead of time the potential entry complications and asked that Carla hold off on booking until I could tell her what would need to happen and see if she'd be OK with it. After that didn't happen, I did my best to communicate what was happening at every juncture, and provide detailed instructions. I'm not running a hotel nor have a staff, and most AirBnB guests understand they need to read messages and instructions when the host is out of town for arrival. I was attentive and did my best to accommodate them, and wish the extra effort and expense to do so had been appreciated a bit more.

Our stay was great! Nice apartment in a great location. Conveniently located close to the metro and tons of great bars and restaurants. A few blocks away from obregon. Greg was super friendly and made us feel right at home.

Excellent experience! Greg made us feel very welcome from the first moment. The flat itself is really nice - everything you need is available- and the location is even better! Eateries, shops and bars are just around the corner and Centro historico and other sight-seeing spots are just some minutes away with metro. We had a really good time at Greg´s place - would definitely come back!

I am a native New Yorker. I have always been a traveller so I appreciate and understand one's needs when visiting another city. I started working in Mexico City relier this year and fell in love with it. I can provide advice you would need on logistics, places and things to see, and cultural events. You will be pleased with your stay here.
