Very large comfortable bedroom plus additional smaller room with desk in lovely older part of Alice Springs, very close to town centre. You can keep to yourself, or use the host's living area. Shared open plan kitchen with all amenities but no fuss.
Access to room can be direct or through front door of house. Sole use of bathroom with separate shower and bath. Toilet is in bathroom. Welcome to use outside areas, including barbeque.
Host is happy to help with local information, maps, directions and so on. Can advise on airport shuttle bus, which will drop you in town or at a motel or hostel a few minutes' walk from my house. They used to drop to the door close to town but seem to have stopped doing so. Also happy to have a chat and suggest places to visit but won't intrude upon or interfere with your stay.
Gay friendly and family friendly. All ages welcome but no noisy party groups please. Host is a mature woman who works in social justice areas, is interested in people and can help with local knowledge. Can also recommend local car hire and day trips.
Host has a small very friendly dog named Chuck Doris. She loves people and is fine with kids, although I would not leave any dog, no matter how friendly, alone with small children. Guests need to make sure they close gates so she doesn't get out. Smoking is okay outside but please no throwing cigarette butts around. Guests are of course very welcome to do their own thing but just need to be considerate.
I'm a mature woman who has lived and worked in Alice Springs for a long time. I have travelled quite a bit and am interested in people. I work in the legal and social justice areas in central Australia. I am happy to point you in the direction of local and more remote sights and provide information without interfering in your exploration. I am easy-going and friendly - in my opinion anyway!
