In the year 1675, the sachem of the Sokokis tribe placed a curse on the Saco River. The Sokokis had lived in peace with white settlers for years under the leadership of Squandro. But when three British sailors threw Squandro's baby into the water off Factory Island – killing the child, the mother (who dove after him), and her unborn baby – Squandro proclaimed that the river would claim three white souls per year henceforth.
The apartment itself is airy and well appointed, and seems uncursed.
Quiet hours 10 PM - 7 AM. No smoking. No falling in the river.

I split my time between New York City and coastal Maine. In Brooklyn, NY, I freelance in food media and own a photo studio. In Biddeford, ME, I make ceramics and peddle culinary tools. Always game for coffee, a cocktail, a long hike, or a good picture.
