Haus Wildbach is a wonderful B&B in the Bavarian Alps!
Our room had beautiful wooden furniture, comfortable mattresses, and luxurious pillows and linens. The public dining area was quaint and homey. The breakfast was a lovely selection of breads, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, and fresh soft-boiled eggs from chickens on the property! Lunch was hearty savory and sweet decadent waffles.
Our kids loved the friendly dog, trampoline, soccer goal, and chickens. They even got to hold a just hatched chick on the final morning! My husband and I loved the sound of the nearby river and relaxed atmosphere. They have an excellent internet connection that allowed my husband to easily work abroad.
Silke, her husband Magnus, and their son Douglass were wonderful hosts. They gave us excellent advice on where to hike and dine. And they were all around great conversationalists.
The house is in between Reit im Winkle and Winklmoosalm. As such, you can easily access restaurants and hiking/cycling trails throughout the area. It is an idyllic, stunning area to explore, and Haus Wildbach was a great launching point with gracious hosts:)
