Professionally-designed spacious apartment located steps from the main street of Alberta Arts, voted one of the top 12 coolest hoods in American by Thrillist. Walk to a 15 block stretch of incredible restaurants, shops, bars and art galleries. True comfort in an ideal location.
The space is a stylish, private one bedroom apartment with your own entrance at the back of the house leading to my lower level, which is a daylight basement with windows and plenty of light. You enter into it from next to my vegetable garden. Tons of room to lounge in the huge bedroom and living areas, if you choose to stay in. If you go out, you're the perfect stumbling distance to everything in Alberta but tucked away three houses off the main street in your own secret world. Very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is newly designed and decked out with thoughtful touches that will surprise you at every turn. Special note to coffee lovers: the best coffee in the city is literally around the corner.
There is a fenced backyard with patio table and covered front porch that guests are welcome to use.
I work from home but you will have your own space with as much or as little interaction as you'd like. My rescue dog Booker loves to greet people if you like dogs. He will be more than happy to show you around the yard and tell you about the neighborhood dog store's treat selection.
I chose this home because it has an incredible, happy feeling to it and is perfectly situated to explore my favorite neighborhood, plus all of Portland. And if the rain pours down in Portland, places to go are so close by, you'll barely get wet dashing to them still. Or if you choose to stay in there is cable, games, books or you can also go old-school and take advantage of the stationary desk. The apartment does not have a kitchen, but has a mini-fridge, microwave and electric water kettle and is stocked with water and tea. Plus, the best coffee in the city is at Barista just around the corner and can be delivered in the morning if you're in need of a caffeine fix before emerging to face the world! If you're a dog person, this might be the place for you because I have an adorable rescue dog named Booker who likes to greet people.
No smoking please. Since I work from home, I appreciate keeping things fairly quiet and therefore request that you don't have other people over.

A solid Midwesterner at heart (born and raised in Madison, WI), I moved to the Bay Area for Stanford and relocated to Portland this year after falling in love with this city. I love the local food scene especially and will be happy to provide recommendations. I've stayed at many Airbnbs myself, as well as hotels all over the world, and tried to create a space I'd be thrilled to spend time in myself. It's a little peace of heaven meant to be enjoyed
