Newly renovated 1100 square foot private apartment. 1 queen bed, 1 full futon in living room. Walking distance to Freret Street, Tulane U, Loyola U, and the Saint Charles Street Car. Large, tropical backyard with hammocks for relaxing.
I consider New Orleans to be the northernmost city of the Caribbean and when you drive up to the house you will feel it too. This house is a labor of love. My travels and New Orleans culture have both influenced many design choices. This 1100 square feet apartment has a a private entryway with an open floor plan kitchen/living room, fully stocked kitchen with all cookware and a granite island, cool architectural features, lots of light, refinished flooring, original oriental rugs throughout the apartment, a jumbo bedroom with queen size bed and wood furniture, a futon in the living room that pulls out a spring mattress (so comfortable!), and a brand new full bath with walk-in shower. Note: NBA centers need not apply, as this was originally a basement and the ceiling is approximately 6 ½ feet high. For most guests this isn't a problem since all rooms are very spacious and do not feel cramped.
This is a completely independent basement apartment. Guests have their own entrance off of the driveway. A wireless Internet code is provided upon arrival. Bike access upon request for 1 (possibly 2 guests).
I interact with guests as much or as little as they desire. I live on the upper level of this house, so I will always be available should you have an issue. I am also happy to provide advice about the city (restaurants, second lines, biking routes, park visits, festivals, etc.).
Note that the price you see may not be the price per night for the days you want to book. Holidays and special events will cost more per night.
Standard Check-out is 12pm unless otherwise discussed.
Please be considerate and respectful of my house and neighborhood. No smoking inside but you may smoke outside. No pets.
Welcome to my home! I am a world traveller who has put down roots in beloved New Orleans. I teach at the university level and I spend a lot of time in Cuba, Brazil, and Costa Rica. I love to dance (and used to dance in a professional samba troupe in New Orleans). I also play soccer, canoe, run, and play guitar.
