We will be delighted to interact and guide you to make the most of your holiday experience in Madeira!... we will try doing so in discreet non-intrusive manner of course, hoping to find the right balance of your preference.
Overall Madeira enjoys quite mountainous landscape and hilly walks, be gentle with your knees and try to take periodic breaks when hiking.
Zigzagging horizontally although longer is preferable to any physique, being softer than straight up routes. This suggestion applies to either up or downhill trajectories, the latter being the one that impacts our knees the most in fact.
The island enjoys mild whether conditions with bright sunshine all year round, nonetheless it can sporadically rain heavily and at certain peaks and times winds can be rather strong. No need for heavy clothing and thick coats though, even during European winter season better to go for layers and a water/wind proof jacket alongside a fleece for mountain expeditions.
Finally, despite not being en suite, the bathroom on your room level is for your exclusive use, we check it fairly frequently though to ensure the essentials are in place (basic toiletries: soap, tissue) and collect rubbish as needed. We provide clean fresh towels for you. If your stay surpasses a week you will by default have a spare set of towels and bed linen available in your wardrobe. If at any point though, and for any reason you wish your bedding to be changed, and you prefer it done by us directly, do please leave the door unlocked and notify mum in a little advance please.
Please, if at all possible, let us know at least the day before arriving what time roughly you are likely to check in. We are flexible as to what time you choose, but so we are able to plan around your arrival it'd be extremely helpful if you let us know beforehand. Thank you very much!
More importantly, please just make yourselves at home!
Thank you very much,
Ana & Maria
