Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped apartment with a huge terrace, walking distance to most places of interest, including dozens of antique shops. Great food stores and restaurants right on our street. You can cook yourself or eat out.
Just please bear in mind it is a residential building. This means keeping your voices low on the terrace if you use it late at night (our neighbors on the other side of the terrace get up early for work). If you meet anyone in the elevator, the lobby or the stairs, it is customary to say “Hola”, Spanish for hello (the “h” is silent and the accent falls on the “o”).
A Polish woman, married to an American, living and working in New York, and missing Madrid, my favorite city on the planet. The apartment on Calle Toledo is our second home and, with the August 2015 end of its complete remodeling, is a life-long dream come true. One day we may move there full time, but for now since we have active professional lives (Ren, a writer, me working in international relations) we decided to share the place with others when we are not there. Friends in Madrid are taking care of the logistics side for our guests. We hope you will love the place. Between the two of us, we can correspond in English, Spanish, Polish and French. In a pinch, our daughter can help with Swahili, Dutch and Acholi.
