A self-contained apartment in a part of our 19th century Maison Bougeoisie, in a jaw-dropping beautiful village in South west France, within easy reach of Marciac for the Jazz festival but offering tranquility and calm.
Our apartment is a self-contained part of our house with a shared front door. The apartment comprises of a large bedroom c/w a king size 180cm bed, an en-suite bathroom (c/w newly installed shower bath and WC). A large and newly installed kitchen diner, and a lounge with a flat screen TV (french Satelitte TV)and a large and comfortable sofa-bed which can accommodate a second couple (or individual).
The apartment is on the first floor of our home and can be accessed through a shared front door. it includes access to our mature secluded garden and small orchard with two terraces, one which doubles as a sculpture yard out of season, is well shaded and cool, the other at the back of our home is covered against the heat of the sun in daytime. There are loungers in the garden for our guests.
Having run a Maison d'hôte for many years in our home I am happy sharing my space with those who have the motivation to find us and understand the attractions of such a peaceful place. My tendency is to play it by ear with guests, those who wish interaction I'm happy to share some of my experience here as best my language permits. I'm always happy to provide local information particularly about local produce and wine, about which we spent many pleasurable years researching.
The apartment is located in a small village called St Sever de Rustan (URL HIDDEN)
Naturally there is no smoking in the apartment or the house at all (this conforms to French and EU law). One may smoke if necessary in the garden, but a some respect for myself and other non-smokers who may follow is appreciated, so clearing up the debris is a reasonable expectation.
Generally I expect that folk staying in my home will have respect for it, me, my family and other guests.

I am a painter, writer and teacher. I was recently widowed.
When we were three our family travelled widely, we lived in Asia for some years. Now we are two I hope to continue travelling sometimes with my daughter and sometimes solo. My late wife and I ran a small guest house in SW France, which I had to suspend, but I hope to begin with this again in 2016, as meeting our guests from so many different backgrounds was one of our greatest pleasures.
